Russia wouldn't need to do anything if Ukrainian leadership respected Minsk 2 agreements and stop ethnically cleansing the Russian-speaking Ukrainians with the urging and backing of Victoria Nuland and others. Russians have a history of attacking neighbors and occupying them and there has never been a 'Minsk2' sort of morality. Finland was occupied by the Russians before the Finns kicked them out around WWI and then attacked again in 1940 where they wanted to dominate over it. Russians got pushed back but got some land out of it.

So go read some history about track record. Their colonialist track record is like the Europeans. Only difference is Russians don't have the means now (or ever) be projecting this might at distant shores so like a one legged beggar they do what they can and steal land from neghbor

2. Putin was trying to create a buffer and sphere of influence but instead NATO doubled the land border.

3. And basically the entire Baltic has become like the Black Sea: its a lake surrounded by NATO. Its fleet won't be able to leave in war and the ships that are out won't be able to come back. Choke point created.

I really preferred a balanced world. Not shore what sort of cannabis Putin was on and his advisers were on to have gotten themselves this sort of outcome.

Shahed has bigger warhead than Lancet. It's particularly effective against stationary artillery like M777. It flies low making it hard to detect by ground based radar. By the time you hear it it's too late. M777 is gone within seconds.

Lancet is mainly used for recon. It's not suitable for strike. It's about as powerful as a Javelin. The only way it can deal max damage is fly over and dive down vertically and even that often requires a thermite warhead like the one used in Grad rockets to be able to seriously damage steel targets.
