Russia Today will start to broadcast on French for one and a half billion rubles

Russia Today TV (RT) is planned to allocate 1,399 billion rubles on the discovery channel in the French language. Relevant draft resolution published on a single government portal.
According to the project document, additional funds from the Federal budget will be allocated for subsidies to Autonomous nonprofit organization "TV-Novosti". From the explanatory notes that the organization receives grants for the creation and distribution of RT TV channel broadcasting in foreign languages (English, Arabic) and which is the most effective Russian information resource aimed at a foreign audience".
In the explanatory note to the draft law says about the need to start broadcasting RT in French. Currently, "information effects on the audience in those countries where this language is Central to the entire population or a substantial part of it, is very poorly".
We are talking primarily about the population of France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada. On the territory of these countries, it is underlined in the explanatory Memorandum, is now broadcasting a significant number of national news channels in French and French versions of international channels, among which Euronews, CCTV and Al Jazeera.
"This leads to the fact that world events in these countries are covered, as a rule, biased, disadvantageous for Russia the light that leads to the formation of negative attitudes towards Russia, with corresponding adverse effects... create a version of Russia Today in French will allow you to change this negative for Russia trend", - stated in the explanatory note to the draft resolution.
State channel RT was launched in 2005. The audience, according to its website, is about 644 million people in more than 100 countries. Broadcasts RT via cable and satellite networks in English, Spanish and Arabic.
