Russia Signed Arms Export Deals worth 30 Billion Euro at Summer 2021 Events

Russian arms export agency, Rosoboronexport signed over 30 contract documents worth more than 3 billion euro during the Army, MAKS and IMDS events that took place during summer 2021.

The potential exports include Su-30 aircraft, Mi-35M / P , Mi-171Sh and Mi-17V-5 helicopters, anti-aircraft missile-gun complex " Pantsir-S1 / S1M " , MANPADS " Verba ", Radar "Protivnik-GE", electronic warfare system "Krasukha", mobile electronic countermeasures system "Repellent-Patrol", anti-tank missile system "Kornet-EM", remotely controlled combat modules, weapons for ships and submarines, small arms and ammunition.

The aggreements included the integration of the Russian ship missile and air defense artillery complex, Palma in the ship's weapon system of of a foreign country, a release from Rostec, the holding company of Rosoboronexport said.

“The success of Russia in the field of military-technical cooperation confirms the ability of the domestic industry to create new unique products and solutions that are interesting to the (foreign) market,” said the Director General of JSC Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev.

Foreign partners paid special attention to the T-14 Armata, combat vehicles based on the "Boomerang" platform, reconnaissance and strike UAVs " Orion-E " , the fifth generation fighter Su-57 , BMP-3 with the "Berezhok" module, among other equipment, the release said suggesting their future sales prospects.

Today, Rosoboronexport's portfolio of export orders is more than $ 52 billion, Mikheev said.

Rosoboronexport had announced at the end of the Army-2021 event that it had held more than 70 negotiations with representatives of 35 countries during the Army 2021 and signed about 20 contract documents totaling over 2 billion euro.


The success of Russia at its own arms shows comes after a European Union ban on its companies exhibiting weapons at some prominent European events such as the Farnborough air show and Eurosatory.

In addition, Russia has replaced the US dollar with cross currency trade for arms sales due to economic sanctions by Washington.
