What's new

Russia reportedly begins SU-35 production for Egypt

Egypt's Air Force:

F-16
Mig-29
Mig-35
Su-35
Rafale
Mirage 2000

All 4th generation fighters. They are just buying for the sake of it..

Should have modernised existing f16s to block 70 plus standard. Then maybe bought new builds from usa. Lastly bought Rafale. Crazy to buy various platforms.

F-16
Egyptian Airforce 178 F-16 block32/40 dont have link-16 data link for network centric warfare
and electronic warfare countermeasures insufficient to target modern fighter jets
70km outdated Sparrow is junk to compare with 120km AIM-120C7 networked air to air missile
also Egyptian Airforce F-16s dont have land attack Cruise Missile

btw Egyptian Airforce doesnt have large scale operation capability without Air refueling Tankers

MIG-29M2
Egyptian Airforce MIG-29M2s dont have network centric warfare capability
and Russian MIG-29M2s can not provide an excellent complement to the American E-2 Hawkeye AEWCs

but Egyptian MIG-29M2s can be threat to the Turkish Navy

RAFALE
Egyptian Airforce RAFALEs armed with only 60km MICA air to air missile and without SCALP Cruise Missile
also Egyptian RAFALEs are without SPECTRA self protection electronic warfare suite

in a real war F-16, RAFALE, MIG-29M2 and E-2 AEWC can not communication with each others via data link ... only radio communication , nothing else
also what about long range IFF System ?

so the Turkish Airfore F-16s on the other hand, with a 120km engagement range, more precise munitions and more effective electronic warfare countermeasurs would thus enjoy an overwhelming advantage in air to air combat

192 Turkish F-16s with link 16 datalink + 4 Boeing E7-T AEWCs enabled by information technology, into a competitive advantage through the robust computer networking of well informed geographically dispersed forces technical steps towards supporting network centric warfare including the Cooperative Engagement Capability

Turkish F-16s with link-16 datalink and 120km AIM-120C7 networked air to air missiles + Boeing E7-T AEWC with MESA Radar to detect Egyptian Airforce MIG-29M2 or SU-35 from 300+ km away for network centric warfare and cooperative engagement capability

Israel and Turkey have developed its own IFF System , EW self protection Suite , land attack Cruise Missile and long range guided Bombs , also link-16 datalink , networked air to air missile , AEWCs and Air refueling Tankers for network centric warfare and cooperative engagement capability in a large scale operation

only Turkish and Israeli Airforces can do it in the region .....

Thats why i said needed upgrading. Unless airframes are too old. Usa wont deny Egypt upgrade packages, especially after giving Pakistan the kits.

You are just a troll..aren't you?
Egypt got their asses whopped by Israel every single time they went to war. It's not like the Israelis are tough, they lost to Hezbollah and withdrew from Gaza as they lost to Hamas. Both these sides have nowhere near the military capability of Egypt.

Su-35 is used for air superiority. The others like MiG-29, Rafale, F-16 are used for ground attack.
Right word for f16/mig29 is multi-role they can use as air superiority too with AMRAAM and R-77 respectively and as for su-35 is also multi-role fighter too its can attack ground targets also

Su-35 is big. Better radar range to RCS ratio than F-16, MiG-29, Rafale. Meaning it can detect and track F-16. MiG-29, Rafale well before F-16, MiG-29, Rafale can track it. Bigger fighters have advantage over smaller fighters. In WW2, F4F was on par with A6M but the bigger F6F was more than a match for A6M due to its better power to weight ratio because it's a bigger fighter. Japan never managed to field A7M to counter F6F.

That's why Su-35 is used for anti air while F-16, Rafale, MiG-29 are used for ground attack.

.
Why buy a mig 35 and su 35?
Su35 falls under the heavy weight class, a much advanced version of the Su-30 more inclined to establish aerial superiority while Mig35 is a medium weight fighter, more like multi-role fighter both for aerial and ground attack

. .
Oh boy they are very desperate not sure what in Their plans so Rafael( no full capability part of deal like meteor, scalp etc), f-16( no full capability Provided ) mig-35 (not all capabilities were tested before delivery and still in works afm article) and now su-35 what a logistical and training nightmare

Not Su-30 but Su-27.
Yeah, they're all derivatives from the Su27 family but Su35 is only a much advanced version of the Su-30. Both carry 12 hard-points, besides 8,000 kgs of external ordnance, pulling a maximum of 9G, have the same air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons package, thrust vectoring engines and can house external jammers of all varieties and pods

Su-35 carries maximum internal fuel capacity of 11,500 kgs, while the Su-30 has 9,640 kgs. Operating range of Su-35 with 3,600 kms and Su-30 with 3,000 kms, max altitude 17.3 kms (Su-30 MKI) and 18 kms (Su-35); and max speed (Su-30 MKI) – 1.9 Mach and Su-35 – 2.25 Mach.

Su30's PESA vs Su35's AESA along with double vs single seater

And prosperous is other thing their people are dying and their government spending billions of $$$ in defense
To be fair, you can't always look at it like that. Yes, Egypt might be poor, but they are not the poorest country out there. For example Pakistan is in an even worse shape, but that doesn't stop Pakistan from spending alot on it's military and buying/procuring weapons. A country still needs to defend itself and have a strong defence as well. So defence spending is often necessary, else all developing countries with poor people should stop spending much on defence and stop buying weapons altogether. However we all know it is not the case.

What a world do you live in f16/mig29 radars is currently comparable to f15/su 27 series and forget the past. Live in present

The military capability of Egypt..that is the key word that is making you itch..
