Russia promises to retarget missiles if US base is established in Poland

The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Vladimir Kozhin stated that Russia promises a response if the US establishes a military base in Poland, RIA Novosti reports.

“Establishing such a base in close proximity to our borders will, without a doubt, pose a direct and clear threat [to Russia]. Russia will be forced to respond to this,” said Kozhin.

Frants Klintsevich, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, also stated that Russia is ready to retarget its defense weapons if an American base is created in Poland.

Polish President Andrzej Duda during a visit to Washington at the end of September, proposed to deploy a permanent U.S. military base in Poland. In his opinion, this is the only guarantee of his country's security against Russian aggression.

Poland is not Russian ground... Poland is NATO Ground Poland can allow every NATO member they want to build bases there... Russia should STFU and stop deploying Army Devisions to NATO boarder... all the NATO "agression" against Russia is in reality a NATO respond to agressiv Russian Army deplyoment along NATO boarder.... and as Ukraine and Crimea has shown that Russia is zerro trustworthy and only understand the voice of force...

That's natural and logical response from Russia. If USA opens a base in Poland, that reduces the reaction drastically so Russia may seek to activate some bases closer to USA.

The Problem with Russia is for example they deployed 3 tank divisions at the boarder to the baltic states which have no heavy equipment and less soldier than one russian divison... The Baltic states today NATO member feel unsecure and ask NATO to help them... NATO increase their forces in the Baltic state... Russia crys NATO AGRESSION...

These missiles that the Russians are threatening to re-target are not, by definition, defensive in nature.

All powers establish area of influence and interest exactly because of this reason they feel threaten when one interfere into other's area of dominance/ influence or Interests; we the outsiders can understand the rationality of NATO expansion into eastern Europe and same can be said for Russia as well who might perceive threat by US forces near to her border.

I think its better to accept the eastern European region as buffer states between western Europe and Russia.
