Russia is inexperienced in how to deal with NATO - They should learn from Af-Pak - Patience and let fatigue get the beast

Nobody can go forever hence Russia should forget about all this short-term war plans but make a long term plan preparations and just make sure Ukraine becomes a black hole that sucks in cash and wastes alot of cash.

Create a frontier for as long as possible don't assume their fire will burn out in just 3-4 years but plan for 10-20 years. Their fire will burn out and they will get fatigued eventually..

Hence if you have to pick a page out of their blue print -> Consistancy is the right word

Go for a marathon approach and this is a marathon.. Fatigue will always settle in

Wasn't this Russia's plan all along?

I thought that Russia wanted to turn all of Ukraine into a no-man's land. Force the Ukrainian population into Poland etc and spark a conflict between the Pols and the Ukranians given the deeply rooted historic and ethnic tensions between them.

Russia will eventually slowly begin to carpet bomb Ukraine. They will not leave a single building standing.

Russia didn't go in for a short term. They're in it for the long haul.

Perhaps they are in there for the long haul but at times it comes off as if they wanted short term

No, this is just certain media outlets trying to put out a narrative to get ratings.

Russia is in there for the long haul.

The fact that Finland is joininy NATO should tell everyone that when Russia is done, Ukraine will no longer exist.

Russia is not an amateur party in the art of warfare and has tried everything up its sleeve in Ukraine.

Russia and Ukraine are at war since 2014. Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, and helped create a separatist movement in Donbas in 2014, but Donbas did not fall like Crimea.

Russia decided to expand the scale and scope of its intervention in Ukraine. Plan A was to topple Zelenskyy administration and replace it with a friendly regime.

Russia made its next move in 2021 but met organized resistance in Ukraine proper. And NATO decided to support Zelenskky administration.

Russian Plan A has failed so Plan B was considered. Plan B is to annex Donbas by force.

Now the Battle for Donbas is ongoing.
