In case Russia fails to build another floating dock, all of their large naval vessels, including 1164- and 1144-type cruisers, will have to be repaired and modernized exclusively with China's help, the report says. korabli.eu China is seeking to get Russian technologies in the field of electromagnetic weapons and engines for large surface warships.

Despite the fact that, after the return of the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier from a Mediterranean deployment, Putin personally rewarded the crew, it seems that the Kuzya's very participation was one of the ways to distract the public from the ongoing decline of the Russian fleet, the Information Resistance wrote, referring to the Chinese edition Phoenix. Let alone a ridiculous smoke the carrier spat out while en route, Russia was deeply embarrassed over the loss of five carrier-based MiG-29KR warplanes, thus the Russian fleet's pride was clearly not something that could frighten NATO.

After its return from the Syria campaign, the Admiral Kuznetsov was immediately brought to the dock for a thorough overhaul. However, during repairs, Russia's only floating dock capable of servicing the carrier sank, also badly damaging the Admiral Kuznetsov. After the accident, the Russian side decided to move the failed aircraft carrier to another shipyard and continue repairs. Many military experts' forecasts on the issue lack optimism. It appears that Russia has temporarily lost an opportunity to repair the aircraft carrier.

The American online outlet Next Big Future covering science and technology recently wrote that in desperation, Russia had turned to China for help, inviting Beijing to undertake the repair and modernization of Russia's only aircraft carrier in exchange for advanced technology. Read also Ukraine, China extend US$2.2 billion currency swap agreement As reported, this refers to technologies in the field of electromagnetic guns and engines for large surface warships.

The Russian defense agencies have not yet commented on the issue. Russia has already imported from China chips and optical glass for military needs. However, military equipment has never been exported from Russia to China in such volumes. Based on the current financial and general situation, Russia has no choice but to recognize Chinese superiority in naval repairs.

According to the Next Big Future, the most unpleasant thing for Russia here is that in case they fail to build another floating dock, Russia will face the fact that all of their large naval vessels, including 1164- and 1144-type cruisers, will have to be repaired and modernized exclusively with China's help.

Russians should get help making the floating docks, also since china is not an agressive country if russia shares sensitive technologies with china it only makes defence of russia and asia easier and better against western agression.

They can always turn to the Scandinavians (if they haven’t pissed them all off). For instance Finland is making 200,000 tonne Cruise ships.

Although they may laugh at them when they see the quality of the ship.

Unian is Ukraine fake news.
I think the only technology China wants from Russia is PS90A engine. The eletromagnetic tech and ship engine are BS. China is already 10 years ahead of USA in EM catapult and railgun. I doubt Russia can provide any usefulness. As for ship engine, Russia even need to depend on Ukraine to supply them gas turbine.

Has Russia been neglecting its navy?

Russians have a strong land army along with a good airforce but their weakness has always been their navy.

despite of 'losing face' for Russia, it's actually best choice.
China can guarantee the progress and I don't think there will be forced technology selling.
