I will have to agree with grey boy for a change. There is no chance of the above happening.

But nevertheless, the negative consequences for the US are incalculable in such a scenario. There is no mistaking that. In fact, without exaggeration, I would say that in the event of a unilateral Izzy attack on Iran, US will lose far, far, far more than either half of this "couple" locked in the spat.

The cost will be geopolitical and financial to the Uncle, and almost unrecoverable. Depending on what actually transpires, which I hope it doesn't come to, the longer term loss will, IMHO, look something like this:

US > Israel > Iran​

Iran will gain unprecedented sympathy world-wide. And who knows, this might just give Russia the excuse to green-light Iranian scientists to have the same degree of "flexibilities" as we know from other "examples".

No one wants to be a victim, I'm sure. However, the appearance of "victimhood" can be extremely powerful to the "underdog" who knows how to exploit it. Persians are a people of intellect. Yankees are about to hand them what they cannot otherwise attain even with several hundred kilos of HEU (while constrained by NPT).

If an attack has to come, Uncle will need to minimize the "Iranian victim dividend". The easiest and most surefire way to ensure this in our attention-deficient "modern" world is to take advantage of a diversion - a crisis somewhere else.

Buddy; That will be a very scary scenario; I sincerely wish that will

never happen.

Personally; I never believe US will have the gut to attack a nuclear

nation. North Korea will be a good example.

1. russia and china would never declare a war world for the sake of Iran(their oil isnt worth sh1t if ur country is destroyed)

2. US would not protect Israel if it meant a world war against china and russia

3. much easier for china and russia to sell iran their best weapons if they are willing to go all out for iran(like s-300/400, advanced jets and such), which their not willing to.

4. Isreal will have a very hard time defying something that the american leadership has stood their grounds on.

The only way Iran can prevent an Israeli attack is if they built nuclear weapons. History has proven that nuclear weapons act as strategic balance between two nations and prevent them from going to war. We have seen it during the cold war, we have seen it in India Pakistan scenario.
Also Iran is playing wrong, it should start making nosies about a possible nuclear attack by Israel and try to get the world attention that in such a case Iran will be left with nothing but destruction and the world should provide Iran with a nuclear cover if things ever come to this. Now it would be obvious that the world except China and Russian would not give much thought to this, which will provide Iran with a clear excuse to develop nuclear weapons for its survival.

I understand that Russia and China would oppose that. But if you think, they themself will go on war with each other, that I think is a bit much. You seem to got carried away. Russia and China may be willing to sell weapons to Iran but what actually they have against Israel. Also "the last day of Israel", seems a statement for masses rather than any substance in it. And ofcourse, you are underestimating USA. They have powerful allies apart from being much powerful themslves.

I do not think USA has completely failed. Though I agree he did not achieve full objectives. And I see no reasons why NATO would pull their forces. If China and Russia can be allies with Iran, why couldn't EU be ally of USA.

You are right that it would be a grave mistake for USA to go into another war. But we should remember USA is not going either. Thread is about Israel.
