Russia accuses US for stirring election protests

A war of words has erupted between Moscow and Washington with the Russian prime minister accused the White House of encouraging protests against his government.

Vladimir Putin’s opponents claim the outcome of the recent general election, which he won, was rigged, and both international observers and the US have expressed concerns about the vote.

He directed his criticism at Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“She set the tone for some opposition activists, gave them a signal, they heard this signal and started active work,” he said.

There’s a heavy military presence on the streets of Moscow after several days of protest in the city and elsewhere. The anti-Kremlin rallies have been among the biggest ever seen the capital. Hundreds of people have been arrested and there are new accusations of a clampdown on online media.

But there have also been pro-Putin demonstrations and he remains on course to win the presidential election in March.

good to see america and russia fighting against eachother.

it will distract america from china.

lets see america try to take on russia, china and iran with the american debt extremely high, high unemployment, stagnant growth, public anger and protests, etc.
they have to manage their own weak economy, social unrest and at the same time having to protect its empire/ pax americana.
it will be a huge drain on american resources trying to contain all 3 countries.

europe and UK have already been severely weakened with their sovereign debt crisis.
and massive defence budget cuts are taking place in europe and UK.

its great news for china that america has interfered into russian internal affairs and angered russia.
its already pissed off iran.
and doing their best to contain china rise.
russia and iran will take the full attention off of china by america.

heck now even pakistan and america are having problems.

USA is the wicked country that puts constant military pressure on China in Korean peninsula, East China Sea, Taiwan (through arms sales and ROC-USA military cooperation) and South China Sea. Russia will never ever be powerful enough to militarily threaten China from land as the Soviet Union did. The years 1969 to 1988 were an abnormality in history. Russia will never be that powerful again, for many reasons, such as its weakening demographics. Russia might may not collapse, but it will stagnate. The only monster that China should be wary of is USA.

We must all learn that our enemy is america. Americans always put their nose where its not wanted. We should look forward to the anti american alliance. americans should be told to go and sort out their own hungry and people who are protesting and rebelling against american treatment of its own people

Just to clarify, this subservient slave mentality is an Indian trait. No other South Asian country worships the British or 'white man' - it is uniquely an Indian behavior.

Indians are indeed very miserable, but do not feel sorry for them, and why should you? They don't feel sorry for themselves. In fact, it actually makes them happy. Self-respect and dignity is not for everyone.
