To be fair Khafee did break the news of 9 C130Js coming with contract signed on his forum. However he said 2 were likely to arrive in 2-3 months . He has also steadfastly maintained Zulus are coming as well as the likely !6 would be 70 rather than 72. It does seem his info was right but the timing may have been off ie he spoke a bit too soon. However credit must be given to him as well as @Tps43. These are good news. Let us wait to see it materialize.

agreed, let time be the judge - i hope this does not become a multi-hundred threads :).

No, that is not the fear. The issue is if say, advanced negotiations on a weapon system is taking place with the Americans, this information leaking can go to infected Indian ears and Indian lobbies in the US can try to put a wrench.

@Khafee broke this news months ago on his site. You're one of the haters who got him banned aren't you? Even now your band is still playing... have some sense know when to eat the humble pie.
Please refrain from mud slinging. When info is released ahead of time, there will always be doubts and if the poster expressed them , then there is no harm in that.

Regarding the C130 sales to pakistan used or new...it is possible that US just couldn't refuse our request for them citing this corona situation globally. C130 is also used as a quick transport/cargo jet for equipment...beds...ventilators and other material in terms of quick deployment. And ofcourse there was some leveraging left to do by Pakistan for its role in Afghan peace process. Blondies' whole coming election campaign depends upon it.

Y-9 is the standard workhorse for PLAAF, higher payload than C-130J, digitalize cockpit and has in service for more than a decade.
Not talking about all those things...
Here we're talking about constant sorties round the clock with reliability and without need of replacement of spareparts suddenly.

Khafee- We should open a line with him, and try and bring him back.

On the US -We should get preferential access to the US market, and use that to bolster our economy.

Brother I dont think T129 will come. I already posted a link in reply to your answer, on how even the Philippines potential T129 sale was blocked by the US.

With the Ah-1Z yes the possibility of more does exist.
Thank you for your informative posts. Re @Khafee, he has his own forum and that might have been a reason although I have to say I dont know the real reason/reasons he left/was asked to leave.
US market access should be a corner stone of our economic policy and should be a welcome step.
Rest you guys in the know know better and I will leave it at that.
Regards

Wow!! Now thats some news. Especially about the AH-1Z as i personally have considered them kaput! Seemed unlikely!! If this is true about AH-1Z then that is a good news, especially considering that we are likely to get these with MMW radar. Plus this thing about C-130J make the whole thing even sweeter. I hope this turns out to be true and becomes a reality soon.

About? I don't remember him talking about C-130J but i do remember him confirming a deal confirmed for 36 F-16 Blk 70, Blk 52 up gradation and i think 18 older F-16!! This was all claimed with absolute certainty and there were members on the forum who guaranteed it just one can guarantee there is a day after night. The whole thing was really blown out of proportion.
In my experience, there is never certainties in international dealings, specially not in military procurement related dealings, specially in case of USA and Pakistan but...... anyway.

Right now, lets forget those F-16s, they might be in transit right now. :P

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Sir please do confirm and inform the members about difference between"a consideration" and "sure they are coming, look one just took off!!" :P :D

26 units? That is a big number!! Do we need this many to cover our air space? Yes i know we will like to have a few back up options or spares but how many? 5 times what is required?

That is not just about Pakistan but Turkey too. Turkey was denied license to export to Philippines as well.

Will it be possible for PAF to change the engines to GE ones on the existing F-16s? Esp Blk 52?

If that technically possible @airomerix @Blacklight
Khafee told about Hercules on another forum more than a month ago

I concur, from f-16s, to Su's, then to J's... never ends with him; there is no basis for such claims frankly childish and unrealistic.

If f-16s come, we will see but unlikely; TiT is on his way out unless miracle happens; Biden may not follow suit either. Too much uncertainty in entire world right now. Getting the economy to start moving on is primary on everyones mind.

You’re right, the J-series claim was previously made. The F-16 claim was made almost a year ago. Something is not adding people. Members are starved of good news and I think this is creating needless excitement. Expectations should be moderated.

Quite interestingly, According to Indian media during last year’s meeting between India and the US, the Indian said brought concerns against a proposed F-16 sale to Pakistan

A top-level Indian delegation headed by Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra reached Washington on Thursday and is expected to discuss military relations between the two countries. India is expected to raise objection over the proposed sale and assistance to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) F-16 fighter aircraft fleet.

I have lost interest in Block 3, nothing to see from that side as well...

with Biden having an approval rate of 50+%(never in history has a candidate lost from here, even Hillary never hit 50%, she was at 42% all time high) it will take a lot of effort from trump to make it....

the only way for him to win from here is to have everything settled perfectly i.e he would need the economy to hit, Biden to fail in debates and a very good result in Afghanistan at the foreign policy level (or middle east which is improbable) to really prove he is the man for the job....

i won't be surprised if a bush-era movement happens(f16s and other stuff)..
