Baku (Azerbaijan), Oct 25 (UNB) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Friday said his country will work to mount pressure on Myanmar from international side to resolve the Rohingya crisis.

“We’ll work to create international pressure on Myanmar (to resolve the Rohingya crisis),” he said during a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the bilateral booth of Baku Congress Center where the NAM Summit is taking place.

Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque later told reporters that the Iranian leader said they would continue their support to Bangladesh on Rohingya issue.

He also thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for sheltering Rohingyas.

He said Bangladesh and Iran have a cordial, cultural and historical relation.

She emphasised united efforts of Islamic Ummah.

“The Islamic Ummah should resolve their internal conflicts internally. If they can do this, then the Islamic Ummah can emerge as a big power in the world,” she said.

better if muslim countries give shelter to them.

. . . .
Why?

And let Burma off the hook?

No matter two years or twenty, Rohingya will get their rightful citizenship back as Myanmar citizens. I guarantee it. This injustice will not stand.

The world cannot sit on their collective asses and let these animals dictate their backward beastly values on the rest of the world. It is just that the world community and civil society have other pressing priorities right now - that is all. The Myanmarese WILL get their come-uppance.

Mr. Ghalib - for a Muslim, you seem way too complacent on the fate of the Rohingya, like you don't care what happens to them. Makes one question if you're really a Muslim. No offense.

IMO, it wont have a great impact considering we have little relations be it trade or diplomatic with Iran.
