This modus operandi seems familiar for some reason. Too bad the driver didn't have his own gun.

If only the driver had a handgun within arm's reach, and just opened fire till their lifeless bodies dropped. It would also be great to see other drivers intervene, if they are armed. People really should learn to shoot.

Friend's told me that even in Lahore when you land and come out of airport, the luggage goes in different car while you are in some other car. Because the bikers simply shoot and rob the people coming from abroad.

Never happened to me, there is always a police patrol, sometimes Army QRF and Punjab police Elite squads, ASF is 24 hours there stand patrol with Ak-47/double magazin, also some Punjab Ranger patrols, snipers are at the entry and exit, so I dont know what you are talking !

How many more deaths, robberies, arsons, shootings and street crimes are needed before IG/DIG operations realizes that more police are needed for safety of public and their properties? I've witnessed a similar incident in Texas, not too far from a Starbucks I was getting my coffee from. The entire thing lasted for less than a minute, left one person shot, the other one on the ground and obviously, the Police and an ambulance showed up a few minutes after people called 911. Interesting enough, one guy try to run away and got into an alley. One of the older gentlemen (over 50) followed his heavy bike in his truck and blocked the entry to the alley so the biker couldn't come out of the dead-end alley when he realized it. The old guy had the biker on gun point till the police came and arrested him.

I've read a few comments above. No one can stop crimes by having a magic wand to "predict" where some stupid heads will show up and will rob people like this. In cases like this, you need licensed weapons used by ordinary citizens, without criminal history, so that they can protect themselves. I am surprised to see not one person was able to get out of a car. These robbers were in plain sight and could have been taken down without knowing who fired at them.

I used to think Lahore and Islamabad were safer cities as I have visited Pakistan just a few years ago for some assignment. So what has changed? Thanks[/SIZE]

I am not in favor of carrying guns especially not when it involves us Pakistanis ............. however I would suggest that everyone is asked to take self-defense courses and training ............ crooks are coward if they are faced with intelligent resistance they give up. Guns should be carried by mature and calm people only not everyone thinks thoroughly before pulling the trigger, hence the term trigger happy.[/USER]

Sir, you don't just buy guns, you have to get a self defense course like you mentioned. Once you go through that training, your brain starts to focus differently on threat perception and how to manage the situation better. I guess you know your country better and if its not a good idea, then you may be right. But in situation like this, you can't wait for the Police. Unless you get really lucky and a Police car is right there, 99% of the time, you'll end up calling the emergency services. So really, the real protection is with you at the time of incident. That's where legal, licensed guns can save lives, money and precious personal property.

Sir this whole thing requires government's time and planning to implement but unfortunately our government doesn't have enough time to worry about safety and security of its citizens. Such incidents could be reduced significantly if police would do what they are supposed to do. Mob justice (I am all for it) is brutal and we have seen it in past, if anyone remembers how these thugs were burnt alive in Karachi, he would know what happened after that but then again if its is left to normal common people what is the purpose of police?

Police has happened to Lahore and Pakistan ................ an innocent law abiding citizen despises them and crooks know they are useless incompetent sh*t who won't dare confronting them .......... or after they have looted they know they won't get caught or even if they get caught they know they will be set free in no time.

I was always against introduction of such schemes by the government when we already have useless Punjab police. It is not the question weather police was patrolling there or not. its simply that the scumbags are so fearsome because of the laws are not implemented here and they get away with almost everything. Even now Police work is being done b rangers thats just shameful . If everything is going to be done by army then what good is this department other than taking bribes and protecting elite

The fact that no other car was robbed despite many cars being around says the robbers knew whom to loot. The Irony is that while a person had enough time to film the whole thing on phone, he didn't use it call the emergency response police i.e. 15
