Pakpattan - PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said that President Asif Ali Zardari and Imran Khan were trying to divide the PML-N vote bank.

Addressing a public gathering in Pakpattan, the former Punjab chief minister alleged that President Asif Ali Zardari had placed his gun on the shoulder of ‘Big Khan’ to rob the PML-N votes. He declared that May 11 would be the day of getting rid of thieves and looters.
Referring to the failure of the previous government, Shahbaz said that people faced worst loadshedding during the past five years which was continued unabated despite skyrocketing tariffs. “The rulers did not even spare the pilgrims and ripped their skin off.”
Industrial units across the country are not emanating smoke due to the unavailability of electricity,” he said, adding that after coming into power, the PML-N would take the thieves to task.
The PML-N leader said that instead of bringing back the looted money from foreign banks, Zardari kept himself busy in gathering the piles of wealth by corruption. The former Punjab chief minister appealed to the public to vote for tiger if they want to save the country from looters and punderers.
Calling to Asif Ali Zardari, the top PML-N leader maintained “You had five years at your disposal to remove the stigma of Mr 10 per cent but you rather earned a new title of Mr 100 per cent.” The former Punjab chief minister said that if death had not taken Benazir Bhutto, the country would not have come to the brink of disaster.
The former chief minister said that in 2011 dengue attacked the country and he was unaware of its danger. He said: “I arranged teams of doctors from abroad who after examining the situation said that this virus was very dangerous and if not controlled, would take the whole country into its fold.
“So I engaged the government machinery to counter dengue at all costs. The government succeeded in controlling the virus and saved more than 2500 lives. Total persons suffered from dengue virus numbered 21,000 while 200 died.”
The former chief minister went to say that when India carried out 5 atomic explosions, Pakistan responded with 6 atomic explosions, giving a strong message to the enemies that Pakistan had the capabilities to counter all types of aggression to defend the homeland.
However, the PML-N leader appeared annoyed at the lower number of attendance at the gathering.
According to political analysts, the PML-N failed to bring out the people for the public rally and most of the chairs were seen vacant.
