sadly true but it's still nothing to worry about for now but i doubt india stand a chance because their economy is too small.

Sri Lanka is China's friend, I certain not wish to see any harm to Sri Lanka due to our different with India, but China and India will not get over to influence Sri Lanka, if India want to have regime change to Sri Lanka to their favor, you can bet that China will support the opposite faction to counter India in the zero sum game.

there was a regime change already but it didn't work out. in fact the current government is even more open to chinese investment that they started selling off important assets to china. 21st century is no more ideological

China has no mean to mess up with Sri Lanka internal politic but if external power trying to destabilize Sri Lanka on their favor but China will not sit idle and let India take away our interest. I think China start to get more assertive after what had happen to Libya when US had thrown away Gadafi regime, we have lost everything there.
