Everyone in Pakistan only remembers fatah Makkah(and very rightly so) but at the same time neglects the other side of the same coin. Everyone seems to suffer from selective memory loss bcuz when Fatah Makkah happened and Muhammad salalahu alaihi wa salam forgave everyone and uttered the famous words repeating what Yusuf alai salam said to his brothers . At the same time Quran(speech of Allah) gave the ultimatum to the Makkan that they should convert to Islam, be killed or be exiled. Majority accepting Islam, a few were executed. One party went out for exile but returned as muslims.

Our religion is not blind compassion(that is the job for Christians) but to balance compassion and firm hand.

I retain my opinion that this will be a dabgerous precedent. Already people are talking about shattered hope about ehtesab. And how this ehtesab is turning out to be very contrary to what the common man had wanted.

Even the Prophet let the people of Mekkah live in peace even though these were the same people who planned to kill him multiple times, stoned his followers for merely agreeing to him and other atrocities!

Sharifs and PPP were pretty much dead before foreign agencies forced spineless leadership of Musharraf to allow them to return.
