Major (Retd.) Sinha laid to rest at the Banani Military Cemetery

Former Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan, who was shot dead by police, has been laid to rest in a military cemetery in Banani with full military dignity. His burial was completed today, Monday.
He was shot dead by police at Baharchhara check post on Shamlapur on Teknaf Marine Drive Road in Cox's Bazar on the night of July 31. Meanwhile, a committee formed to probe the death of former army officer Sinha Rashed Khan will start its probe from Tuesday.

Chittagong Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman has been made the head of the committee reconstituted by the Home Ministry on August 2. The reconstituted committee has been asked to submit an investigation report within seven working days.
The committee includes a representative of the Armed Forces Division of the Prime Minister's Office, a representative of the GOC of Ramu 10 Infantry Division and the Area Commander of Cox's Bazar, a representative of the Chittagong Range DIG of the police and a representative of the Cox's Bazar district administration.
Former Major (Retd.) Sinha voluntarily retired from the Army in 2016. He is the son of freedom fighter Ershad Khan, a former deputy secretary in the finance ministry. On July 3, he went to Cox's Bazar with three students from the Film and Media Department of Stamford University to make a travel video for the YouTube channel. He was shot dead by police on the night of July 31 while returning from a shooting in a hilly area of Shamlapur.
