Retired army major shot dead at Cox’s Bazar check-post

Pradeep is set to get the death penalty, end of story.
Taking consideration of all evidence, OC Pradeep should get death penalty. BUT who said, he would get one, was it by a judge through any verdict?

It's obvious he will contact the Indian Embassy, Bangladeshi Hindus are known to use this trick, when they're caught committing crimes, they just call up India and cry religious persecution, nothing new, nothing unexpected.

Calling indian government for help is "normal" and "nothing unexpected" only for people who call india as their home country NOT for people who recognize Bangladesh as an independent country. More importantly, it goes to show indian control over Bangladesh law enforcement (specially police) and administration. How many officers and members of police are from Hindu community??? Wholesale appointment and promotion unjustly and un-proportionately given to hindu community by awami league regime knowing very well they are acting on behalf of india (against Bangladesh and its interest). Here is most recent example of awami regime promoting a hindu officer superseding 42 others.

After the home ministry inquiry report came out, it was clear the Cox's Bazar "police" super (SP) was involved in obstructing the inquiry and investigation. It is also to note "Hasina" and "indian" killing squad destroyed CCTV footage which is material evidance. When there was a pettetion by Maj Sinha sister to charge SP for his involvement in the murder, Sheikh Hasina and her controlled court rejected the petition. This is another move by sheikh Hasina and its regime to save its killing squad operating under "police" uniform.

The plea to charge SP Masud in Sinha's murder has been rejected

Cox's Bazar Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain has been included in the murder case of retired Army Major Sinha. Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, the plaintiff in the case and Sinha's sister, filed the petition in the court of Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah around 12 noon on Thursday.

Earlier, the plaintiff's lawyer, Senior Advocate Mohammad Mostafa, told a press briefing that Cox's Bazar Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain has been obstructing the investigation into Major Sinha's murder case. He is the accused in the Sinha murder case, dismissed OC Pradeep Kumar Das and the inspector Liaquat has been given a letter to give a division in the jail. Going to cooperate with the accused in various ways. In other words, SP ABM Masud Hossain is his office bearer Efficiency is being used for the accused. So I have filed a criminal application to include him as an accused in the Major Sinha murder case. The court took cognizance of the application and awaited the order after hearing it.

However, Cox's Bazar SP Masud Hossain said, Cox's Bazar prison super Md. Mokammel Hossain dismissed OC Pradeep Kumar Das and Inspector Liaquat Ali gave me his signed letter to confirm his authenticity whether he was a first class officer or not. I answered every line of that letter with observation
I gave. There is no mention of giving division to any officer. Besides, I (SP) just write down what falls under the governmental institutional responsibility I gave. Moreover, no one in the police force can be saved from committing a crime. Personally or as a responsible officer, I myself never wanted that and I will not want it in the future.

Meanwhile, the plaintiff in the case and Major Sinha's elder sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous said that SP ABM Masud Hossain has been indirectly involved in the case since the beginning of the incident. Directly interfering, he has abused power. Major (Retd.) Sinha has defamed. At the time, S Masud told the media: he found yaba and drugs in Major Sinha's car. As a police super he can’t say it. He constantly obstructs running the investigation.

It may be mentioned that on the night of July 31, on his way back from Teknaf to Cox's Bazar, he was shot dead by the police at a check post in front of the Baharchhara Police Investigation Center.
Retired Major Sinha said. Rashed Khan. Then on August 5, Teknaf Police Station Inspector Liakat, OC Pradeep Kumar Das and 9 others were indicted in a Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court.
Sinha's elder sister filed a murder case.

Not only the people of the country but also the sovereignty of the country is dying in the crossfire of OC Pradeep

Dr. Tuhin Malik

The report of the Home Ministry's inquiry committee into Major Sinha's murder could not be withheld. The report was leaked. The nation also came to know the most frightening information in the 13-point report. That is, OC Pradeep has contacted a foreign embassy in violation of the rules and code of conduct. For so long the people of the country knew that the people of the country were dying in the crossfire of the lamps. And today I learned that not only the people of the country but also the sovereignty of the country is dying in the crossfire of the lamps.
Earlier, BNP lawmakers had demanded that the investigation report be released to the media. However, it has already been leaked to the press. Meanwhile, in response to this, the Home Minister said today, 'I do not know how it was published in the newspaper. Those who have published and provided information have not done the right thing.
If the task of unmasking the cycle that is hurting the independence and sovereignty of the country is not right. So why aren't you showing your courage and patriotism by taking action against this anti-national clique? Since the issue is important and involves the question of the independence and sovereignty of the state. So the government has to prove its position to the nation.

Stop posting edited stuffs. Police dare not to do this openly . Army isn't street mob that police can do this .

Sinha murder is different thing , it's by few police member , not by the whole organisation.

Besides, police can't arrest army ( active personnel) as army isn't civilian. If any army personnel need to be arrested before his retirement, then only military police can arrest them ,not civil police .

Your childish posts are becoming boring day by day tbh . Take a break .

Btw , what is your opinion on the news ? Almost all police (1400) of Cox's bazar are transferred ?

Ever heard such thing before ?

No amount of your awami league and Hasina fairy tale will mask the truth.
"transfer" is just hog wash, everyone knows, who are you kidding here. Dis police super or any other officials involved in this and countless other crimes LOST their job. Answer is NO. Preach your worthless awami gospel to awami goons.

Awami league started attacking Bangladesh army in broad day light like this. Wait for next evidence....

LMAO. It's the evidence that your life is based on fantasy and you don't live in reality.

You have no idea what Bangladesh Armed forces or any armed forces can do .

If they want they can squeeze the ball of entire police force in a blink . Do police have heavy artillery ?

Police can't be compared with army , even not in head to head fantasy combat .

Just everything has rule and that's the reason army remain polite and loyal to civil administration. But fantasy people won't understand it .

Nice try, it is not a matter of artillery duel and who has the bigger gun. It is your leader Hasina and her cadre in police uniform using state power and even external country india against Bangladesh armed forces. If you can not fathom that you are utterly disqualified to have this discussion.

Lol you caught my artillery point . I referred it according to you fantasy video games. And you take it literally. It was expected though ,thanks for proving me correct. Anyway for your sake ,I added a line in previous comment, read it again.
:omghaha:
(However even in artillery combat police won't survive as they don't know how to use it , but such things are video game matter, also here some user like @Al-zakir always angry that why army don't though out (his)La Hasina ,with the Islamic army spirit ! Probably he and many people have the same fantasy. Thankfully you have such fantasy too, but in different way , as the previous post of BCL is kicking army is the evidence)

By the way , tell me who actually hold the state power in Pakistan? And Egypt ? Is it Imran khan or abdel sisi? Even in theory who actually hold the power do you have any idea ?

What if I claim that Bangladesh has adopted the same system ,just you ( commoners) don't know it ?

People seeing and reading about Maj Sinha killing by Hasina's cadre in "police" uniform need to understand context of what they are witnessing.

Plan against Bangladesh army hatched long before awami league came to power by Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wajed Joy and and their external backer india. in 2008 article written by Sajeeb Wajed Joy in published in Harvard International Review branded Bangladesh army as an Islamic extremist organization. Here is excerpt of Sajeeb Wajed, son and advisor of Sheikh Hasina, outright lie and plan against Bangladesh army. Everyone in Bangladesh know there is no such thing of madrassa training for army recruit or Bangladesh army had 35 percent recruit from madrassa. One year later in 2009 when awami league came to power Hasina with backing from india massacred 57 Bangladesh army officers as part of plan she and her son hatched.

[" Islamic extremism is also on the rise in Bangladesh because of the growing numbers of Islamists in the military. The Islamists cleverly began growing their numbers within the Army by training for the Army Entrance Exams at madrassas. This madrassa training was necessary because of the relative difficulty associated with passing these exams. The military is attractive because of both its respected status and its high employment opportunities in a country where unemployment ranges from 20 percent to 30 percent for younger males. High demand for military posts has resulted in an entrance exam designed to limit the number of recruits. Before this madrassa Entrance Exam campaign, only 5 percent of military recruits came from madrasses in 2001. By 2006, at the end of the BNP’s reign, madrassas supplied nearly 35 percent of the Army recruits. In a country that has seen four military coup d’états in its short 37 year
history, the astronomical growth of Islamists in the military is troubling to say the least.
......

Increase Recruitment into the Military from Secular Schools
To counter the increased military recruitment from the madrassas, more youths—especially the secular-minded—must also be taught how to pass the Army’s Entrance Exams. It is not enough to desire more secularly-taught youth to enter to the military, but the plan must place them on the same playing field with the madrassa recruits. Instead of outwardly restricting madrassa training for the Entrance Exams, secular school Entrance Exam training would counter JI’s strategy to Islamify the military and thus the nation. An alternative source of recruits could switch back the military’s ideological balance to a more secular recruit base.

Is the above statement is true? How one can attest to it?

Those were Sheikh Hasina's son Sajeeb wazed Joy statement and everyone in Bangladesh know there is no such thing of madrassa training for army recruit or Bangladesh army had 35 percent recruit from madrassa. Fact that no other secular newspapers and people (there are plenty of this verities) never mentioned such things should be proof enough Sheikh Hasina and her son were lying.

There are growing understanding among journalists and analyst that awami league regime letting govt officials looting news surfaced to bury the Maj Sinha killing and saving prime culprit Pradip Das. It is already established that Pradip Das is an indian asset operating under indian intel (RAW) supervision from indian embassy.

OP You have a deluded view of the world. You are too simple to understand that society is comprised of competing powers.

BD army is stronger than ever, richer than ever. Hasina is trying to keep Army's dignity, give them their funding and keep them out of politics. That is the balancing act for all Asian countries.

Whatever she has done with the Sinha case it is with army and police authorities on board.

Idune you should see a doctor. You're like a sewer fly - in all the good things in the world you seem to find the smallest specks of sh#t, and then you open a thread about it.

Awami league killing squad member in police uniform who killed Maj Sinha now filed case to quash criminal preceding against him. What a mockery to victim and Bangladesh army by Awami league and its chief Hasina. It is worth noting that (one of the) killer Liyakat Ali is from same district as Sheikh Hasina and such case could be filed against justice with a nod for Sheikh Hasina herself.

Legality of Sinha murder case filed by sister challenged
Our Correspondent . Cox’s Bazar | Published: 18:49, Oct 04,2020

A review petition was filed with the Cox’s Bazar Judge Court on Sunday challenging the legality of the murder case filed by Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, the sister of slain retired army major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan. Teknaf police station’s suspended police inspector Liyakat Ali, also the prime accused in the murder case, filed the petition.

The court’s public prosecutor Faridul Alam said that judge Mohammad Ismail accepted the case and fixed October 20 for next hearing. That petition filed by lawyer Farhan Sahariar on behalf of prime accused Liyakat Ali. Sinha, 36, who took early retirement from the Bangladesh Army in November 2018, was shot dead at a police checkpoint on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive at Shamlapur on July 31.

Sinha’s sister Sharmin filed a murder case with the judicial magistrate court in Cox’s Bazar on August 5 accusing nine police personnel. Meanwhile, 12 accused out of 14 had admitted their guilt to the court of senior judicial magistrate of Cox’s Bazar Tamanna Farha.
