RAB is looking for answers to various questions regarding the murder of retired Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. Investigators say Shahedul Islam Sifat, the only eyewitness to Sinha's murder, said Sinha got out of the car at the checkpoint. His pistol was in the car. However, after the incident, Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das claimed that Sinha fired a pistol at the police. Considering the surroundings, it can be seen that it could be a planned assassination. Because, the laptop and mobile phone used by Sinha are not available after the incident. On condition of anonymity, the eyewitness said that Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed, a retired army officer, was stopped at the APBN check post on Marine Drive Road in Teknaf around 9pm on July 31. At that time, a constable was on duty at the check post wearing APBN uniform. He was there to stop the car. Inspector in-charge of Baharchhara camp Liakat Ali and SI Nandalal Rakshita were already present near the check post in white clothes.
The APBN member signaled to stop Major Sinha's silver private car at the checkpoint. The car went a little further and stopped. Go to that member of APBN. Asked for his identity, Sinha introduced himself as a former army major. At that moment, he told Major Sinha to leave. Suddenly Inspector Liaquat ran and wanted to know the identity of the person in the driver's seat. In English, Major Sinha introduced himself as a former army officer. When he came to the spot, OC Pradeep asked Sifat to handcuff him and pour water through his nose. Sifat started shouting loudly. As he did not have a handcuff, Pradeep started abusing the policemen who were with him. Said, 'Dam with rope. Or do you not have that? ' At that time, an APBN member ran and started looking for the rope. By the time the sound of gunfire, more people in the area began to gather near the checkpoint.

Nine policemen, including sacked Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das, were charged in the case. So far, RAB has arrested 13 people, including seven policemen including OC Pradeep, three members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) and three witnesses in the case filed by Teknaf police.
Three members of the arrested APBN, dismissed Inspector of Police Liaquat Ali and SI Nandadulal have already given confessional statements under Section 164 in the Sinha murder case.

So far, RAB has arrested 13 people, including seven policemen including OC Pradeep, three members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) and three witnesses in the case filed by Teknaf police.
Three members of the arrested APBN, dismissed Inspector of Police Liaquat Ali and SI Nandadulal have already given confessional statements under Section 164 in the Sinha murder case.

Retired Major Sinha said. Two more murder cases have been filed against 31 people, including OC Pradeep, who was sacked in the Rashed Khan murder case. Teknaf upazila resident said. The two cases were filed in the court of Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate (Teknaf-3) Helal Uddin on Monday afternoon on charges of killing two persons named Aziz and Noor Mohammad in the name of crossfire.
Md. Killed. Aziz is a resident of Dailpara in Teknaf Sadar Union and Nur Mohammad is a resident of Nazirpara in the same union. Md. Killed. Aziz's mother Halima Khatun and Nur Mohammad's wife Laila Begum filed the case.
Plaintiff's lawyer Nur Hossain Nahid and Md. Mostafa told reporters that OC Pradeep Kumar Das, who was sacked in two cases, has been made the main accused.
The lawyers said the court had taken cognizance of the two criminal cases and directed the OC of Teknaf Police Station to inform the court by October 4 whether there was any other case related to the incident or whether there was an autopsy on the two victims.
The plaintiff in the case of the deceased Aziz mentioned in the statement, on October 16, 2019, a group of police from Teknaf police station Md. Aziz, Nur Hasan and Abul Khair were taken away. Later Md. Others including OC Pradeep demanded Tk 20 lakh from Aziz's family. If not, he threatened to kill Aziz in crossfire. Helpless, Aziz's family paid 50,000 rupees to the police. But on the night of October 19, Aziz was killed in a crossfire in the Maheshkhaliapara naval area of Teknaf.
On the other hand, the plaintiff in Nur Mohammad's case mentioned in the statement that on March 19 last year, when he went to the agriculture office to fetch seeds and fertilizers, he was picked up by the police. Later, others including OC Pradeep demanded Rs 50 lakh from his family. If not, he was threatened with death in crossfire. So he was forced to raise five lakh rupees in various ways. But on the night of March 21, Nur Mohammad was taken out of the police station and taken to the Rajarchhara area of Marine Drive Road. At one stage, Nur Mohammad was taken to Zhaubagan by some policemen and shot dead.

An administrative inquiry committee submitted its report on Monday on the killing of retired army major Sinha Md Rashed Khan in police firing in Cox’s Bazar with an observation that the police planted Yaba pills and hemp in Sinha’s car following the killing.
The committee stated that based on the witnesses’ testimonies and circumstantial evidences, it appeared that policemen ‘deliberately’ planted Yaba pills and hemp which they pretended to have seized from Sinha’s car, home ministry sources said. Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan declined to disclose any findings of the report, saying that they would inform everything to the court.

When questioned by the inquiry committee, former Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das said he had used his weapons in most of the gunfights that took place during his tenure. The committee members asked him, "During your tenure, 174 people have been killed in 108 gun battles. Did you lead them directly?" Pradeep says most of it has been under his leadership. The committee wanted to know, 'How many times have you shot yourself, with what weapon?' In response, Pradeep said he fired 20-30 times, using a personal weapon.
Pradeep told the inquiry committee that he had a Walter pistol worth Tk 7.5 lakh. "I use what I feel comfortable with," he said. In response to the committee's question, he said, he used to keep an account of his pistol shots by GD.
In response to a question about Inspector Liaquat, OC Pradeep said, 'Liaquat eats grass on horseback. He called the SP without informing me.
There is a huge picture of the lamp on the wall of Teknaf police station in Cox's Bazar. The astonishing question of the inquiry committee is that when a government official is promoted to any level, his portrait is adorned on the wall! He also broke the rules and code of conduct and contacted foreign embassies, calling senior officials without heeding the protocol. The committee thinks that all this is his boundless arrogance.

Pradeep is set to get the death penalty, end of story.
It's obvious he will contact the Indian Embassy, Bangladeshi Hindus are known to use this trick, when they're caught committing crimes, they just call up India and cry religious persecution, nothing new, nothing unexpected.
