Rescue 1122 rescued over 380,000 people in 2011

In 2011, Rescue 1122 also launched a fire service in the remaining 24 districts of Punjab.
LAHORE: Emergency service Rescue 1122 rescued over 380,000 people in 2011 throughout Punjab and maintained its average response time of less than seven minutes.
According to a press release issued by the service, it rescued 388,514 people in 367,053 operations in all districts of the province. The number is up from 369,561 victims in 2010.
There was an increase in the number of avoidable road traffic incidents, which necessitates the need for cooperation on the part of citizens, law enforcement agencies and the [Rescue 1122] service, said Rescue 1122s Director-General Dr Rizwan Naseer.
Among the incidents covered, 144,270 were road traffic accidents, 194,008 medical and other emergencies, 8,360 fire incidents, 17,281 crime-related calls, 1,008 cases of drowning, 821 building collapse incidents, 170 explosions and 1,135 special rescue operations.
The greatest number of rescue operations was conducted in Lahore (71,699), followed by Faisalabad (31,149). The least number of operations was conducted in Mandi Bahauddin (2,777), Chakwal (2,870) and Jhelum (3,149).

These areas include Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Mianwali, Pakpattan, Kasur, Gujrat, Bahawalnagar, Jhelum, Attock, Khanewal, Vehari, Chakwal, Okara, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Lodhran, Nankana Sahib, Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, Layyah and Bhakkar.
