Some friends of my mother are involved in replanting of rural Sindh, basically a reforestation program and I was requested in helping seek out donations. I would request some advice on which countries/organizations would be potential donors.

.But here's the challenge: If Sindh's population is around 47 million and still growing, will there be any purpose in these projects? Will the trees survive?

Here are some details of the projects:

Indus Development Organization (IDO) is working for protection and rehabilitation of forests in Sindh since 2005. we are conducting activities related to sensitization, mobilization and organizing of local communities dependent on forests. Activism and litigation are also major activities of IDO. UNDP-GEF (SGP) and WWP-Pak supported IDO form 2006 to 2011, but since end of 20011 IDO is working without any funding. IDO has established "Forest rehabilitation & protection Committees" (FRPC) comprising on representatives of adjacent villages with forests. nowadays our focused area is forests of district Hyderabad and Matyari. we have successfully secured entire forest land of Sindh which was planned to be converted in revenue status for handing-over to land lords and politicians through a constitutional petition in Sindh High Court. Due to these activities I and my team are facing various cases and life threats. In November 13 some people attacked on me in Matyari forest which was 3rd attack on me. IDO is facing worst kind of financial crisis, rent of office salary of little staff has been difficult to pay, even I have sold out my vehicle in this purpose. there is little hope for funding in forest sector of Pakistan.
