As we have lately heard and read on various major news outlets, US is showing signs of obsessive–compulsive disorder vis-à-vis Pakistan. Initially abusing Pakistan as a fake ally during the grand Jihad Communism era to completely ditching Pakistan towards the end of the Cold War. Again abusing Pakistan after 9/11 and ditching it to fend for itself the US has yet again renewed its interest in Pakistan. US diplomats connected to the deep state have recently displayed their open displeasure at China Pak cooperation.

The renewed interest in Pakistan doesn’t come as a surprise. Since Pakistan and China have committed themselves towards economic development the US is rearing its ugly head to firmly oppose and support its chief ally Hindustan. Surely India is also pushing its ally US to fulfill the role of a spoiler.

The US has on the highest level and unilaterally decided to send over a bribe delegation consisting of a dozen US companies. Some of which are already profiteering inside Pakistan for decades. The pathetic bribe offer is supposedly a counter offer to CPEC. The Pak government has yet to respond to the US imposition.

Important questions arise. How should Pakistan deal with renewed US interest which is designed to adversely impact Chinese presence in Pakistan. More importantly, should Pakistan take steps to counter US desire to establish a stronger foothold in Pakistan? What can these measures be and how far should Pakistan go in implementing them?

My suggestion would be to radically decrease US diplomatic and non-governmental presence in Pakistan. Starting off with the largest spying headquarter, namely the US embassy. Pakistan could gauge US response and move towards more radical solutions.

Pakistan should not hold itself hostage to FATF threat. The FATF threat is going to adversely impact the lenders which Pakistan owes money to. The government of Pakistan should also stop acting like a US spokesperson in relation to Taliban negotiations.

Unfortunately for Pakistan, the US is Pakistan's largest export market and IMF loans are approved by the US too.

The current Pakistani PM Khan is too weak, desperate and inexperienced to handle American pressures and offers.

I think improved Pakistan-US relations can only come at the expense of Pakistan-China relations which will be catastrophic for Pakistan as a nation.

One could argue that by removing US clout other friendly nations could substitute US as an export market. Having the US as the largest export destination also keeps Pakistan shackled. When these export figures are put into perspective they really amount to insignificant. The export figures are relatively low because our leaders have never prioritized trade. The export figures are the highest, but potentially Pakistan could do much better with other trading partners.

and what did positive your hero NAWAZ did for the betterment for Pakistan in his term

Pakistan can ill afford to be blunt in the international geo-political arena. The US investments are to be welcomed but the terms involved should be firmly in our favour. The question remains if the US would back-down on the anti-CPEC rhetoric. On the flipside Pakistan should ensure that our own production setup and industries are not compromised as well.

No one else wants exports from Pakistan. Do you think that other friendly nations will suddenly start importing goods from Pakistan just because Pakistani Government says so?

All true and that's the reality.

The export figures are relatively low because our leaders have never prioritized trade. The export figures are the highest, but potentially Pakistan could do much better with other trading partners.

Which leaders exactly don't want exports from Pakistan to grow?

First of all you need massive amount of money to build the infrastructure such as road, rail, energy and ports to handle the industry.
  • Only $61 billion CPEC has ever been offered to Pakistan in its entire 72-year history for this very purpose.
Secondly, you need huge amount of money to build industries.
  • Only American aid in the late 1950s was offered to Pakistan for this very purpose. It amounted to 20% of Pakistan's then GDP. Most of which was squandered on two wars within six years.
Do you think Pakistan has at some point had $500 billion - $700 billion lying around that it can utilise to build a Pakistan as per your wishes?

Sirji, with all due respects I would disagree with you here. Pakistans enemy and threat is only and only India. The US is not an enemy or friend of anyone, US just goes after its interests. Check out recently how US is imposing tariffs on even France Canada etc who are considered among top allies of US.

Pakistan cannot again afford to put all its eggs in one basket. Pakistan should have US on its good side because it is a giant/rich market for Pakistani goods and it can help advance pakistan in tech. Pakistan should not become overly dependent on any one country, should not make that mistake again. China is like a brotherly country but there are limitations to it too. China itself is still developing and want more investments, they will cautiously look for trade imbalance that goes against their interests. US is a giant consumer market who don't care about this.

There's no US investment coming. India is being prepped for war with Pakistan so all you will see are MOUs and that's it.

I wouldn't be surprised if this really is the case i.e. the Americans making fake offers to sow confusion.

Yup. They're only looking at various options to somehow sabotage CPEC and they want Pakistan to give the CIA free reign in the country like when they had between 2002-2012.

That's about it. US is concerned with China not Pakistan.

China has taken Pakistan as a friend when USA left Pakistan alone to deal with the mess it created in the region. Now there is no room for USA in this region anymore. Its too late for them. They cannot come and buy us out even with billions of dollars and military equipment.... Its just too late.

Why Pakistan is not accepting this offer. We need to do it in parallel way and take maxium benefit from them and who ever offer best things for Pakistan, we should go that way and by competition by giant we will get best deal. So we should go a head and asked them to give us good and favorable deals
