‘Remove ‘N’ from PML-N’: ECP summons Nawaz in party name case

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a notice to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif to appear before the ECP in a case pertaining to the party name.

A plea has been filed with the ECP seeking removal of Nawaz Sharif’s name from PML-N, arguing that the name of the disqualified person cannot be used in a title of a political party.

Mr. Sharif is currently in London to see his ailing wife Kulsoom Nawaz.

The ECP, in its notice, asked the former prime minister to appear before the commission on July 9. On the other hand, a three-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to appear in the court today (Friday) over a petition seeking registration of treason case against them.

A three-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) headed by Justice Mazahir Alil Akbar Naqvi released the written order.

The court while summoning Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday ordered both the parties to clear their position after appearing before the court.

The petition was filed by Advocate Azhar Siddique saying that Nawaz Sharif interview falls in the ambit of treason, while Shahid Khaqan Abbasi disclosed the proceedings of a very important meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) to Nawaz Sharif.

The petitioner prayed the court to take action against the former premiers.

One common myth I would like to correct here in the current budget it is 23% allocated for defence (inclusive of extra funding) and 30.7% allocated for debt re servicing. First is a unfortunate necessity which can[t be ignored and second is clear incompetence.

military is relevant due to incompetence of our political parties and their govt style they intentionally destroyed all govt departments due to which for every single issue govt call up military to resolve the the problems .. if there is a train crash military's services are required ... if a fire incident .... simply call up the military ...if electricity bills collection issue is there .. military services are required .. flood ... food shortages,census, law and order situations and list goes on ... why they have so many govt employees in these departments if they required the help of military for every other issue ??? these are politicians and their corruption which made the military relevant otherwise i am strongly against the military intervention in govt business ...

Incompetent politics are created by military to keep civilian leaders from coming in..leaders who were not product of GHQ or went renegade meant their deadly fate sooner or later and their killers were never found and never arrested.

its a part of our culture ... our people are fans of rising powers and many of them simply dont wanna change themselves because of illiteracy and several other factors.... our tribal cast and religious differences are further narrowing the approach of our people .... we are an emotional nation who loves myths and fantasies, for every single domestic issue we simply blame our establishment and for every international issue we simply blame america,Israel and india... today shabeer bija rani won the election unopposed in Sindh province seat... these are the people of that area who dont wanna change themselves because bija rani is the largest tribe of the area and only they would win the election no meter what logic you give them or no meter what is the reason they will act like zombies ...
