ISLAMABAD - Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said Friday that the remittances were on rise as these increased by 9.36 percent in January 2020 compared to the same month of last year.

In a tweet on Friday morning, the Advisor said that the remittances during the last seven months also increased by 4.1 percent when compared to the corresponding period of last year.

The remittance during July-January (2019-20) were recorded at $13.30 billion compared to the remittances of $12.74 billion during July-January (2018-19), showing growth of 4.1 percent, the advisor said.

“Remittances on the rise. Increase by 9.36 percent in January 20 compared to January 19. Rise to $13.30 billion in Jul-Jan 2020, a growth of 4.1% compared to $12.74 billion during same period last year,” the advisor tweeted.

Sir 16 industrial zones were envisioned under CPEC. Imagine the industrial output if all 16 were up and running now. The Nawaz government did not start even one in their five years. PTI started one (Faisalabad) they say 2 more will start before June let's see if it happens. We need atleast 10 zones by 2023.


Btw LSM grew nearly 10% in Dec 2019 compared to last year and 16% more than Nov 2019. So things are on the up.

I never once disputed the fact that remittences are not easing our BoP woes, on the contrary my worries are that our 'dependence' on them is proving to be more troublesome, if you read my previous comment you'd understand why.. heck if you posted your comment in hindsight then, You yourself should seek psychiatric support.

Furthermore when you talk about 'research' at least get your key figures right i.e. Bangladesh annual remittence is way under $20 billion (closer to 15), whilst their exports are over $40 billion. They are not dependent on remittence as we are, ironically even though they were carved out of our dominion, today they are far more sovereign then we are today. Your gulf Pimps are quickly losing interest in our workforce, they are seen as a liability for the greater fruits being offered by the Hinduvta Kingdom, if you look at the demographic balance between Indians and Pakistans the figures will shock you i.e. in Kuwait: Indians to Pakistanis is approx 8:1! So the survival of our state depends on us getting back on our feet, we no longer can afford the nostalgic courtesan lifestyle you cherish so much.
