Israel used phosphorus bombs at a UN school in Gaza for Palestine refugees in January 2009. Around 1,600 people including families and children sought refuge in the school to escape Israeli barbaric bombardment that was devastating Gaza at the time. The Israelis knew very well that the building was a UN school and that it was housed by families. On the last day of the 22 day war, Israel not only used the banned white phosphorus shells but also used artillery. to target women and children. This incident can be viewed as an addition to the murderous Israeli campaign of ethnic cleansing and annihilation of the Palestinian population.
