Reliance Defence Systems appoints ex Navy vice admiral HS Malhi as President & CEO - The Economic Times
MUMBAI: Reliance Infrastructure said it has inducted retired vice admiral H.S. Malhi into its top leadership team for its defence subsidiary Reliance Defence Systems, the company said in a release Thursday.
The Anil Ambani led company made its foray into the defence sector through acquisition of Pipavav Defence and Offshore Engineering. After the completion of the acquisition of the company, Vice Admiral Malhi will assume charge as Group President and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
"Vice Admiral Malhi's expertise in strategic planning and execution, operational management, and joint ventures and partnerships will enable Reliance Defence Systems to realize its goal of creating India's foremost defence company, with an emphasis on the 'Make in India' program initiated by the Honourable Prime Minister of India, thereby creating sustainable long term value for all stakeholders," Reliance Infra said in the release.
Vice Admiral H.S. Malhi served Indian Navy for 36 years.
Reliance Infrastructure is into power generation, distribution and transmission. The company is also a developer and contractor of infrastructure projects.
