Pakistan Post has always been criticized for being an unreliable service. Over the past many years, people have avoided using the services of the national postage of the country in favor of private courier companies.

Even the strong Pakistani e-commerce industry didn’t rely on Pakistan Post to send their parcels to customers. With e-commerce making billions in sales each year, it was a huge blow to the PKPost that their services were not being used.

With the new government, and a young minister spearheading operations at Pakistan Post, the organization has made a whopping 184% increase in its revenue in the past four months. An indication that people of Pakistan have finally started relying on the national courier of Pakistan.

Pakistan Post made this possible by launching services like E-commerce parcel, export parcel, urgent mail. same day delivery service, electronic money, and more.

Even Pakistan’s favorite German ambassador Martin Kobler was impressed with Pakistan Post services a few weeks ago.

Pakistan post has improved much in pti govt tenure and murad saeed should be given credit of it as he has done great efforts and now parcels and courier service of Pakistan post is delivered with same quick and timely manner like tcs and leapord courier

but e commerce in Pakistan is heavily including sellers who loot the customers and deliver wrong and damaged product and refuse to return.Recently I lose money by buying from daraz.pk and govt should make proper regulation to ensure customer protection in online buying as once you open packet of product even in front of delivery rider if it is damaged or wrong product your money is not returned at spot and you are at total mercy of seller of product who mostly refuse to return or replace it .

Railways need much more improvement and its performance has not improved much like Pakistan post as delays are common in reaching certain locations

PIA reaches break-even in operating profit

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has claimed that it has come out of losses at the operational level after quite a long time as its revenues slightly exceeded the operating cost in the quarter ended March 31, 2019.

“PIA has achieved breakeven at the operational level,” Adviser to PIA CEO Air Vice Marshal Noor Abbas told The Express Tribune. “It, however, may take three to four years to report a net profit.”

The state-owned airline’s revenue surged to an average of Rs8-8.5 billion a month in the January-March 2019 quarter compared to around Rs7 billion a month in the same period of last year. “The operating cost was slightly lower than the monthly revenue or was almost equal,” he said.

18 new planes, new routes planned for PIA

The adviser said a notable improvement in financial management came after the seat occupancy rate per flight increased to around 90% in the period under review compared to less than 70% in the corresponding period of previous year.

Moreover, the addition of four planes to the operational fleet after repair, which took more than a year, reduction in the number of employees, drastic reduction in the ticket reservation cost, increased load factor of cargo and increase in the number of flights on profit-making routes helped achieve these results.

“Such improvement in operations came following the change of management in November 2018 when Air Marshal Arshad Malik took charge as CEO of the airline,” he said. “PIA is doing well under the five-year business plan, which got approval of the cabinet very recently.”

He revealed that PIA had been saving roughly Rs1 billion a month since it acquired the new ticket reservation software from Turkey-based firm Hitit in October 2018. “The new reservation software is costing half of what PIA was paying to the US-based firm Saber.”

“The saving is playing a major role in turning around the airline,” he said.

1st off all Senate has been told that PIA losses (over all at some period of time, not just in last year) have increased to 416 billion. It's good that now PIA is in break even. But that doesn't mean no loss. Pakistan Post is doing good and renues increased by 184% and due credit must be given. But problem comes when Youthias start using word Profit for revenues and spread fake news and stats. Reality is that PIA, PR and PP are still at loss despite some recovery in last few months

Not at all, I have had return experience of clothes, school bags, a pair of peshawari chappals, electric trimmer, power bank, rechargeable cells, cell charger, C type connector, iphone battery replacement kit etc that I have requested as unsatisfactory or not as advertised and initiated return and astonishingly, got my money back in wallet within hours without even being asked to return that unsatisfactory product.

I guess, once you have a good enough buying record from daraz and the product is not too expensive, they even refund you your money and ask customer to keep the product as token of good faith and save customer from hastle of even going to TCS for free return.

The best thing to do is to give away in charity the unsatisfactory and free products gifted by daraz this way and not take advantage of their goodwill policy.

I hope our SOEs will become profit making enterprises but that's just dream, even if one government will make them profitable the next will bring it back to losses. i ordered smartwatch xo2s with 5.1 android few days ago for 6635 pkr by cash on delivery method but I received a damaged smart watch with no specification as mentioned on ad and have price equal to 800pkr at leapord courier office and opened packet infront of courier staff but as they allow to open packet after receiving money I cannot return it although I demanded them at spot to return money I paid but courier staff refused and at daraz.pk website I found my order status being cancelled in my order area although I have paid full amount against order so I have no option left for return.You will believe on such scams and frauds when you experience them and it seems daraz.pk,sellers and courier service providers collaborate in such scams to loot money
