Stephen Cohen: Pakistan is in trouble and its future is questionable. This country is growing more influential in geopolitics and it's imperative that the U.S. help normalize the situation there.

( A clip from 2011 , its unbelievable how Pakistan has changed in last 10 years, all credit goes to armed forces of Pakistan, today Pakistan is stronger than ever before, more united, more international stature with robust foreign policy. The only caveat is our economy, but I can assure that in 10 years time we ll be a strong economic power too)

Its been the same for 70 years. Every 10 years these predictions are made by intellectuals about Pakistan.

Why should the top thread on PDF be Pakistan is Failed State?

Sarcasm. Get it ?

This thinking was a big part of USA's strategy failure in Afghanistan (and Iraq to an extent). Obama administration tried to build an Iran-India-Afghanistan nexus in the region thinking that India would become a super power by 2020 and Pakistan would become a failed state. Neither of these happened. They also handed over Iraq to Iran....encouraging fighting between Sunni and Shia....which Pakistan also avoided. USA's Pakistan strategy from 10 years ago is laughable today.

This just goes to show the resilience of a nation. Also when every one gave up on Pakistan, we came back even stronger.
