ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Tuesday he would visit Pakistan in the near future to review bilateral cooperation and discuss regional issues.

Kerry met Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on the sidelines of ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) ministerial meeting in Vietinae, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, said a Foreign Office statement.

He assured the US was ready to improve and expand its multidimensional partnership with Pakistan.

Pakistan hints at reassessing US ties

During the meeting, both the leaders exchanged views on the regional situation with special reference to Afghanistan and agreed on the importance of promoting the Afghan-led reconciliation process.

Secretary Kerry appreciated Pakistan’s determined efforts to eliminate terrorist groups in its tribal belt with considerable success. The two sides also reviewed Pakistan-US bilateral relations.

The ARF ministerial meeting was attended by 10 ASEAN members and 17 dialogue partners.

    ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of State John Kerry assured Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz that United States is ready to improve and expand its multidimensional partnership with Pakistan.

    Aziz and Kerry met on the sidelines the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting being held in Laos, where both the dignitaries also exchanged views on the regional situation with special reference to Afghanistan.

    According to a communiqué issued in Islamabad, Aziz and Kerry agreed on the importance of promoting the Afghan-led reconciliation process.

Any news containing words " improving/strengthening Pak-US relations" sounds ridiculous and fiction...there ain't any relationship between Pak-US at all...no more.

Sounds like the United States is drawing back the stick and dangling another carrot. Pakistan should maintain it's distance and demand a more coherent approach from the United States.
