 Upset by their crushing defeat in the Constituent assembly poll, the United Communist Party of Nepal-Maoists on Thursday alleged large scale irregularities during the 'transfer of ballot boxes' to counting centers, and announced it will boycott the entire poll process if the polling in progress is not suspended.

Addressing a hurriedly summoned Press conference today, former Prime Minister and United Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Chairman Prachanda said 'while we wish to honour the verdict of the people, we will not accept any irregularities and conspiracy." He warned to start a 'peoples movement' against the 'tampering of the peoples verdict." As Prachanda made this announcement his party supporters outside yelled , "Prachanda, you give us the order, we are ready to wage the war, EC annul the poll."

He alleged that Maoist agents and representatives were harassed, arrested and huge irregularities committed by the "outside forces while transferring ballot boxes to the counting centres." If the counting is not stopped immediately, we will not associate ourselves with the entire electoral process, and stay away from the new constituent assembly," he said, adding "Let the election commission and the political parties take this seriously.

Available trends from 240 constituencies in process showed Nepali Congress in the lead, closely followed by the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML), with the Maoists as a distant third. Prachanda himself lost to the Nepali Congress in Kathmandu-ten where he finished third.
Prachanda also warned that if there is any move to go against the peoples urge for change brought about by the movement by 2006, "We will join hands with all progressive and pro-change parties including the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoists (CPN-M), that did not participate in the November Tuesday poll."

Chief Election Commissioner Neel Kantha Uprety however, asked all sides to honour the verdict.

This is real funny, since they are losing they want election stopped, I wonder if UPA will resort to this tactic in 2014 Elections of India.

.
Prachanda is a sour loser. Man is hungry for power & wants to turn Nepal into a communist paradise under command. I won't be surprised if he goes back to the bush & resorts to his guerrilla tactics once again.

Then it has to be ensured that he never comes out from the bush.
