"Raptor of the East, Mini Awacs, AMRAAM Dodger" of IAF Finally Catch up with Vintage PAF Mirages

you have mig-21, as we landed F-7..
Anyway, engine doesn't matter. The landing speed matters most. Also, IN lands Mig-29K on aircraft carrier all the time. So don't feel hurt.

With the kill ratio we have against the IAF, its only fair to have some ego.

Being the ONLY Air Force whose Pilot shooting down the Mighty Israeli Air Force, its only fair to have a some ego.

Indian Air Force has the right to have some too - after holding the World Record for The Most Crashes (in a single Calendar Year (2019).

- 28 January: Jaguar crashed shortly after takeoff in Uttar Pradesh.

- 01 February: A Mirage 2000 crashed while on an acceptance sortie after being upgraded by state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) killing both Pilots.

- 12 February: A MiG-27 crashed at the Pokhran firing range.

- 19 February: Two Hawk aircraft of Surya Kiran aerobatic team crashed after hitting each other mid-air during a rehearsal for the AeroIndia Show. One of the pilots was killed in the accident.

- 27 February: Pakistan shot down one MiG-21 Bison during an aerial fight after India violated the airspace.

- 27 February: a Mi-17 chopper was also downed in Budgam District in Indian Occupied Kashmir killing all six on board.

- 08 March: A MiG-21 (Bison) crashed near Bikaner, western Rajasthan, due to a Bird strike, the pilot ejected safely.

- 31 March: A MiG-27 (UPG) crashed in Sirohi, Rajasthan, the pilot ejected safely.

- 03 June: An-32 crashed in Arunachal Pradesh. All 13 declared dead.

- 08 August: Su-30Mki crash in Tezpur. Both pilots ejected safely.

- 16 November: MiG-29K crashed in Goa soon after it took off for a training mission. Both the pilots managed to eject safely from the aircraft.

Note: I took the liberty of leaving out the Su-30MKi from the 27th of Feb, as we're all aware that its a touchy topic for you all - but hey, you Battery Operator took down your Mi-17 killing 06 of the personnel. What do you guys do for an encore?

Although Indian media reported that only the C-130J actually landed while the SU-30 simulated it.....possibly just a touch and go.
Anyways, the jokers are trying to boast their tiny egos by imposing on the point that these operations took place only 40km from the Pakistani border.... a distant that can be even engaged by artillery.
And for the genius talking about PAF not operating twin engine jets.... well these creatures victims of their own fake factory pioneers need to be reminded that PAF was operating twin engine jets when most Indians were sleeping under bridges.....and while many countries including USAF fly single engine, however only IAF has the distinction to drag them on a trailer.

Jealous of them for such success. It means, they are improving after all these years of failing to do so, calling it unnecessary, not need for 2 engine, what will make it worth, there are risk to lose worthy Aircraft etc etc to this day of first Time landing. Apparently, IAF was so done with PDF poking them always.

When PAF first carried out motorway operations some 15 years earlier, then the IAF Air chief could only comment with a wry smile.....''it's no big deal......Swiss Air Force has been doing it for decades.''
But i guess he forgot to add that it will take IAF another 15 years to match PAF in this exercise.

Has more to do with susceptibility of the AL-31 to FOD than landing on a highway.
they probably had to walk that highway twice to ensure no FOD was around.

Same reason PAF avoids putting the F-16 on a highway because the Intake is too low and open for any FOD damage although the singaporian and Taiwanese airforce do it regularly. The ATAR on the Mirage can take that and so it and the F-7 can do it easy. The JF-17 too gets some benefit of its i take shape but haven’t seen it on the highway.

Oddly, the earlier Soviet types of the IAF were more hardy and their early Mig-29Ms came with auxiliary intakes for taking off from rough conditions(apparently those are now welded shut on the UPGs).

As per my knowledge, PAF had been practicing this since early 80's but it was never disclosed

When PAF first carried out motorway operations some 15 years earlier, then the IAF Air chief could only comment with a wry smile.....''it's no big deal......Swiss Air Force has been doing it for decades.''
