What's new

RAPTOR lovers must watch it

most of it biased...they think a pilot in raptor is too good for other jets...Americans as usual are degrading and looking down upon their adversaries...by the way its computer generated animation we'll see when Russians and Americans confront each other....the Americans are using raptors against SU-47 look at this first stupidity lol they didn't use F-35 against SU-47 hmmm....another thing Americans are trying to tell Russians that to work on SU-47 that's just a test bed jet not going to be produced in large numbers at all..Anyways its a long way down they can make another computer generated video animation PAK-FA V RAPTOR that'll be fun to watch again f-22 will take over lol as usual..truth is the real thing we'll see when Americans and russians confront each other..

I had expected them to bring on PAK-FA too,it would have been interesting.
Yeah it is biased,it took them one hour to shot down one Raptor:lol:

.
I can not vouch for Close range dog fight but in BVR,Raptor is a clear winner.:D
That's because it STEALTH.It has thrust vectoring and as far as I know F-16 does not have that.

.

My apologies I what i was reffering was close combat, short range
However In my opinion even if the f22 was using BVR F16 would able to dodge them due to moveablity.

.
This is some real life Raptor action, not CGI.:enjoy:

Yes, you are right. Maybe they were afraid that the superior skill of the pilots who fly Sukhois and MIGs would overwhelm the American pilots. That is what happened in Red Flag 2008. The Sukhois had to end up fighting and killing each other because the American pilots, in their lowly F-16s, were too easy a target.

Maybe they should have simulted dogfights with Jaguars too. Or maybe the new 17th generation trainer, HAL HJT Sitara.

sir, if you've seen the demonstration of mig 29 ovt's super maneuverability demonstration by Pavel Vlasov, you woudn't be soo sarcastic. btw, I never said indian sukhois or indian migs.

I have seen that many times. I liked it so much that I saved it onto my computer so that I have it even if it disappears off the net. I deeply respect the MIGs and Sukhois.

However, the way you said 'conveniently avoided' clearly shows that you are suffering from the 'Su-30 is God's plane' syndrome. Tell me, honestly, what do you think will happen if the F-22 and F-35 faced Russian 4.5th Gen planes in a war situation. Also, what do you really think will happen if they got into a dogfight?

You already know the answer to that. You just don't want to admit it. I could say I want to see JF-17 vs F-35. I already know the answer to that, but I will admit it.

If I already knew the answer to it I wouldn't be asking, would I

THe only thing we get from those vids are commentary praisng how manouverable the f22 is

If so prove with the Harrier and F16, and if you do then show it
otherwise my agruement still stands. I wanted an opinion from objective and evident view not from a theortical view.

You are right. I'm sorry.

On a different note, I want to see F-86 Sabre vs F-18. The F-18 has never fought against it, and, even though on paper the F-86 would get obliterated, the F-18 has not proven itself to me yet. I, too, want to see an objective and evident answer. (Secretly, I am biased towards the F-86, but I'm sure I've hid it well).

Oh, I just realised that test is never going to happen, so I guess I'll keep on living in my fantasy world where F-86s rule the skies. By the way, on another topic, the F-35 is just an expensive plagiarism of the Harrier and the Battle of Britain is the only aerial war that really matters.

"No hard feelings"

................ not worth the effort..........LOL

I said "intelligently avoided" because they have discussed about a visual range dog fight between rafale and f22, and f22 avoiding rafale by doing a cobra maneuver. and later they had to face many more mig35s (better 29 ovt) and su35 (super maneuverable again) but they kill them all with those bvr missiles (mig 35 has aesa). That was just dumb.

sir, I may not be as informed as you but I know a little bit about planes:wave:

IMO, visual range dog fight where both the pilots are aces; then there is no way f22 can win a mig35. you can compare the maneuvers side by side in both the videos. yeah, stealth and other things f22 should win.

That's that then. The opinion of booo is all the proof I need.

I'm just messing with you. WVR combat b/w two highly advanced jets with TVC is something that has not yet taken place in war sitatuation. I don't think that there is 'no way' the F-22 can win, since it was designed precisely to counter most modern Russian jets. You have to take into account all the advantages an F-22 pilot will have with integrated avionics, helmet mounted display etc. which will create better Situational Awareness. The people who have a hard time accepting the F-22 is a supreme jet in all types of aerial combat don't understand that stealth is just one of the many things that put the jet an entire generation ahead of the competition. Considering all the non-BVR advantages the F-22 pilot will enjoy, I don't think there is a plane in existence, other than the F-35, today that can match the F-22 in BVR or WVR combat.

That being said, strategy is the most important weapon of war, and the F-22 can be defeated by employing the right strategy.
