nice videos but am really Impressed by the lady in this video named caitlin harrington :smitten:
having that level of technical knowledge is such young age is just impressive! :D

Thank you leon for posting these. I used to watch this show a lot, but it has always been heavily US biased. That's alright though, because it's an amazing show.

These videos really put things into perpective. I am all the more motivated to do well in school now. I will definitely take some courses in Radio and Microwave Wireless Systems, as 80% of the show was about RADARs, Jammings, Deception, Wireless Communication etc.

they cleverly avoided discussing about the dog fights between f22/f35 and migs/sukhois the thrust vectoring in russian jets and the super maneuverability.

Yes, you are right. Maybe they were afraid that the superior skill of the pilots who fly Sukhois and MIGs would overwhelm the American pilots. That is what happened in Red Flag 2008. The Sukhois had to end up fighting and killing each other because the American pilots, in their lowly F-16s, were too easy a target.

Maybe they should have simulted dogfights with Jaguars too. Or maybe the new 17th generation trainer, HAL HJT Sitara.

yeah I thought that too, but then its US bais

Whats even more interesting is, why haven't they done f16 vs F-22 in a dog fight ?
US have both planes and are functional ?

Is the F16 still more manoever than the F22 and can beat the F22 ?

Two Dog fights I want to see :
Harrier vs F22
F16 vs F22
and if the F22 can over come these aircraft 7:1 ratio favouriing the F16 and Harrier with ease I for one will knowledge the f22 superiority.

However B-1R was cool I think Pak should have many of these to fire multipules of missiles :p

F-22 has definite edge over all other in BVR as it is stealth.BUT in WVR things are not as easy as they showed here.

F-22 has thrust vectoring option too and they showed it in one of the parts.May be you missed it.

They gave good marks to Rafale and Su-47,terming it perfect adversary.Personally I think Su-35/Su-30MKI will give them some hard time in close dog fights. But in BVR,its all "RAPTOR".

I beg to differ on this. There are controversies regarding Red Flag exercise. It was a set up by USAF so that Congress gives more funds to F-22 and so that they are procured faster.
Moreover I heard F-16s fought with Bisons in 1:4 ratio, which is very difficult for dog fights.Personally I think Su-30MKI are better fighters than F-16s,may be some will agree with me on this. But Raptors are better than everything else so far.

It would be unfair not to give credit to US pilots. They definitely has Better training than almost all the Air-forces in the world.:agree:

can you provide prove of this cus i for one would love to see how the F22 can take on a f-16.

I can not vouch for Close range dog fight but in BVR,Raptor is a clear winner.:D
That's because it STEALTH.It has thrust vectoring and as far as I know F-16 does not have that.

Well everyone knows about Red Flag exercise was to divert more money to F-22 programme. Moreover,As far as I know Americans didn't say much about the exercise. It was Indian claim mostly.I am not taking the credit away from Indian pilots though.

And Su-30MKI being better than F-16 is just my personal opinion as I already said before.
