Rangers take into custody two MQM-London leaders

The Sindh Rangers took into custody Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) London leaders Dr Hasan Zafar Arif and Kanwar Younus Khalid from outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Saturday.

Prior to their custody, the two leaders had arrived at the KPC to address a press conference in connection with the ongoing arrests of the party workers in the metropolis, Express News reported.

Subsequently, Dr Arif and Kanwar Khalid were shifted to the Rangers headquarters where they are reportedly being interrogated.


Pro-Altaf group launches bid to reclaim party


On October 15, 12 members of an interim Rabita (Consultation) Committee of MQM-London, which was formed a day earlier and endorsed by Altaf, were present during the press conference.

Speaking to the presser, Dr Arif had said that conspiracies being hatched against the party will fail, saying Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) was created to divide the party but it will fail in its attempts.

If I am not wrong one of guy arrested of MQM was ex PTI candidate in previous election and change his loyalty overnight. What UK MQM has to do with Pakistani politics. Leave it local MQM, Farooq Sattar is doing good job.

Government is not playing fair. They are protecting PPP but going after MQM. Government must re-open all the corruption cases aganist PPP, Ayan Ali and Dr. Asim and others cases should be resolved by catching those who are behind it.

As far as MQM is concerned, party name should be banned in Pakistan and anyone associating himself with Altaf Hussian should also be banned because Altaf Hussian is Ghaddar and RAW agent.

Farooq Sattar and co should select a different name for their party and same goes for MQM london if they want to do politics they need to have their own party.
These party's have hijack Mohajir name to get sympathy from people.

Only reason people say they support MQM on TV because of the fear of these criminals.

That depends. This menace needs to be removed completely. The fear that the people of the largest city of Pakistan have been living in for last 3 decades, needs to end. Its a big task. Lets hope they get it over with soon. You may have stronger views against PPP than me but people don't fear them. They are corrupt no doubt about that but PPP as a whole is not a party with militant wings. Other than aman committee in lyari which has been taken care of. We don't want MQM with Altaf hussain to rise again in any case so I think rangers are doing a good job for now as far as corruption is concerned it will have to be countered by political forces and judiciary not law enforcement agencies. So lets hope it works that way.

Mqm is no longer threatening force. it was during PPP tenure when we say how haqqani issues 4000 visas, It was during PP tenure that he wrote letter to Mike mullen. MQM hands were limited to karachi for simple thuggery but what PPP has done is basically broken back bone of pakistan
