Five hardened criminals belonging to banned terrorist outfit were killed in an encounter with law enforcement agencies on Sunday.
Rangers conducted a targeted operation in Mohammad Khan Colony of BaldiaTown in catch of criminals. Entry and exit points of the area were sealed before law enforcers began door-to-door search operation.
Around 400 Rangers personnel took part in the operation. As the search operation was underway, terrorists hurled a hand grenade on Rangers and resorted to indiscriminate firing. In retaliation firing by the Rangers, three of the terrorists were killed. Two hand grenades, one TT pistol and two kalashnikovs were recovered from their possession.
According to Rangers sources, the slain terrorists belonged to a banned terrorist outfit.
Earlier, two terrorists were also killed in firing by law enforcers when their group attacked a Rangers vehicle near Northern Bypass. A hand grenade and two kalashnikovs were recovered from their custody.
