Instead of seeing the pattern of the obvious, they swallowed the IAF's nonsense that it needs a medium weight fighter as if it is taking part in some Olympics weight categories. All IAF needs is western fighters without strings because they are too incompetent to fly Russian jets properly and get the max out of its capabilities without crashing it regularly. They regularly invent excuses to get french fighters, when back in the day it was soviet union's disintegration while today its weight categories.
I hope with the death of the MMRCA deal, those fools I mentioned at first have made the world a favor and jumped off a cliff. Lots of saved oxygen if they did!
