Queen Rania: Let's Drop The First 'I' In ISIS. There's Nothing Islamic About Them

technically she is right. This is not an overly religious organization. This is an organization where the followers have been taught to let go of all values - religious and otherwise. As I had mentioned to @AgNoStiC MuSliM some time ago- there is no redemption for the ISIS Scum. we should just carpet bomb/napalm them and destroy them.

.
Jordan is in direct hitting zone of USIS , & royal family knows about it , they want more support , surly they should be supported & JORDAN should become a , anti-USIS HQ of ME .
but are they ready to do that ?
Statements are eazy to give , & wars are difficult to fight ?

USIS, thats a more appropriate name.

LONDON -- Queen Rania of Jordan said Thursday evening that there is nothing Islamic about the self-proclaimed Islamic State, or ISIS.

She was speaking with Huffington Post Editor-In-Chief Arianna Huffington as a part of The WorldPost Future of Work Conference. “I would love to drop the first ‘I’ in ISIS because there’s nothing Islamic about them," Queen Rania said, prompting applause from the audience.

"They have nothing to do with faith and everything to do with fanaticism,” she said. “I think as an international community, we would do well to not focus on the religious character of that group because when we do, we give them undeserved legitimacy.”

ISIS wants to be called Islamic … because any action against them will automatically be called a war against Islam, which is exactly what they want it to be,” she said. “They want it to be the West coming against Islam because it will help them with their recruiting.

Instead, Queen Rania said, the war against ISIS must be led by Muslims and Arabs, with the international community in a supporting role. And part of that war is countering ISIS’s messaging online and on social media with content by the Muslim and Arab community, especially the youth, she said. “We can’t let [ISIS] hijack our identity and brand us in the way that they want. We have to write our own narrative.”

“What the extremists want is to divide our world along fault lines of religion and culture, and so a lot of people in the West may have stereotypes against Arabs and Muslims,” she said. “But really this fight is a fight between the civilized world and a bunch of crazy people who want to take us back to medieval times. Once we see it that way, we realize that this is about all of us coming together to defend our way of life.”

Queen Rania said she thought there are different reasons people join ISIS, including desire for a sense of belonging, for adventure, for a job and/or for the religious rhetoric. She said she sees it as a pyramid:

At the top of the pyramid are those who actually generate that ideology, and I think they’re the worst. Fanaticism and extremism exists in every religion but it always remains on the fringes. And I think what makes it drift to the mainstream is the fact that they were supported. Some did support them with money, and they provided them with the infrastructure, which allowed them to then spread that ideology a lot more.

At the middle of the pyramid are those who ... [believe] that there's a political injustice. That they don’t have a stake in their own societies. That there’s no justice. And I think at the bottom of the pyramid are those who are probably uneducated and suffer from poverty and unemployment, and they are the most vulnerable. Apart from those on the top, it’s vulnerability that makes people fall prey to their kind of rhetoric.

Because there are different reasons why people join, she said, the fight against ISIS needs to be undertaken at different levels -- including militarily. “But this can’t just be won on the battlefield,” she said. “At the heart of this war is ideology, and you cannot kill an ideology with a bullet. You can only kill it with a better idea.”

Queen Rania: Let's Drop The First 'I' In ISIS. There's Nothing Islamic About Them

Abdullah II of Jordan leads a state that is secular, backed by the US, and not Islamic at all. This is Rania's own interpretation of Islam and the situation in the Middle East. The Jordanian royal family is neither popular among Islamists, nor is it any authority on what is Islamic, and what is not. There are many who disagree with her, and see Baghdadi as the rightful Caliph.

I agree with you but disagree on carpet bombings because there are millions of innocent civilians in that area who are oppressed by SIS. We need precision strikes to kill there leadership and surround them so that they cannot escape. Pak army should be consulted for this since they have good experience against TTP.

.
Just refer to them as micropenis collective everytime they are mentioned, I think they might get angry after that.
I think we should call them by the name they use for themselves. Only when people know what is being done in the name of Islam, the Islamists will get a lesson on consequences of their pursuit. And it will also warn muslims on the dangers of taking their beliefs to the extreme.

We call Nazis as Nazis, despite them being neither Nationalist or Socialist. Calling ISIS by any other name is passive racism, basically saying these guys should be forgiven for their ignorance.

ISIS actually follows Islam in a dogged fashion. They have rationale for every heinous deed of theirs. And the rationale comes from Islam. Their logic is impeccable. Only the closet racists don't accept their logic because they want to hold Islam to a lower standard.

SASIS would be even more appropriate.

The US's mistake here was primarily that of kowtowing to Saudi demands, with the hysterically anti-Iran Republicans in the US, the Israelis and the Israeli lobby piling on even more pressure.

Given the degree of pressure on the US Administration, domestically and from foreign allies, it's remarkable that Obama walked back from his 'red line of chemical weapons use and didn't involve the US, directly, beyond the little we have seen so far.

I'm not convinced one way or the other at this point, but I disagree with the comparison you made (with Nazi) as justification for continuing the use of the term 'Islamic State'. Germany and German culture can exist without the use of the term "Nazi" - it referred/refers to a specific kind/strain of nationalistic ideology.

The term 'Islamic State' is much more generic and encompassing. Muslim's can't just stop referring to their religion as Islam after all.

.
Rania's own interpretation of Islam
thank you for showcasing the remarkable level of ignorance!

This is the interpretation that has been given no less than 27 times in MAINSTREAM media over 4 mths (only stat counted) by mufti, clerics, scholars, organizations, associations and people who call themselves Muslim all over the world! Its just that now Jordan's Queen said something I have been repeating for few months, Muslims have been pointing for over 2 yrs is now getting attention and it become's the Queens OWN interpretation? LOVELY!

No one can deny the US's hand in all f this....here is a man admitting that they begged Saudi for the money :pop:

Of course bitch didnt let him say the truth :tsk:

I'm not convinced one way or the other at this point, but I do have to point out that the use of the term 'Nazi' isn't quite analogous to the term 'Islamic State'. Germany and German culture can exist without the use of the term "Nazi" - it referred to a specific kind/strain of nationalistic ideology.

The term 'Islamic State' is much more generic and encompassing. Muslim's can't just stop referring to their religion as Islam after all.
Let us compare apples with apples. Socialists somehow rescued their ideas from the shadow of Nazis, resisting the attempt to hijack the word socialist.

Muslims should do the same.

BTW Good to see you back Agno :)

Then we can add you to the list of people weighing into this debate with their own interpretation of Islam. Ahmed Musa Jibril in Dearborn, Al-Jazouli from Sudan and Anjem Chaudhry in London spend as much time studying the Quran as any of you, if not more. And they disagree with you. Your allegation about my ignorance makes no difference to me, as I am not the one in the dock.

In an ideal world, Muslims who think like Rania and yourself should be allowed to continue playing these cat-and-mouse games with the aforementioned scholars. But innocent people are getting killed while you can't decide as to which is the real Islam. Why don't you call a global conference on this issue and settle it?

Only the closet racists don't accept their logic because they want to hold Islam to a lower standard.

True. Moral relativism of the modern age is based on the premise that the Oriental/Easterner is a scoundrel, and who is anyone to do anything about it. Let the scoundrel be.

If it was based on anything else, secular liberals in the West would call for implementation of the same policies and laws that they condone in the Islamic world within their own countries - Sharia for example.

spend as much time studying the Quran
yet neither has any degree, certification not even a diploma :o:

Where and from whom do they learn?

Musa Jibril
Ahmad Musa Jibril, 43, (aka Ahmad Jebril) owes $250,000 in restitution and costs related to fraud convictions that landed him in prison for 6½ years, the Detroit Free Press reports. He and his co-defendant father were convicted on 42 counts bank and mail fraud, failure to pay income tax and money laundering.

Around the time of his arrest, he was being shunned by Muslims in Dearborn, where about 40 percent of the population is Arab-American. His radical views prompted his dismissal from a Dearborn mosque in 2003. He transferred to mosque in Brownstone, but within a month was also banned from prayers there as well.

Some of his contemporaries described him as “a very powerful speaker,” but Jawad Kahn, who knew him at the time, said his lectures “turned into angry rants about Western crimes against Muslims and he peppered his talk with invectives against Shi’a Muslims and called on God to turn Jewish children into orphans,” the researchers said.

Yup he has some knowledge there alright! and even the mosque goers shunned him and banned him!

Anjem Chaudhry
Even my baby niece knows how to google better than some trolls here :tsk: Where did he get his "Islamic" education from?

Anjem Choudary is the son of a Welling market trader and is of Pakistani descent. He attended Mulgrave Primary School, in Woolwich. He enrolled as a medical student at the University of Southampton, where he was known as Andy, but after excessive partying, failed his first-year exams. Responding to claims that he was a "party animal" who joined his friends in "getting stoned", in 2014 Choudary commented "I admit that I wasn't always practising... I committed many mistakes in my life." He switched to law and spent his final year as a legal student (1990–1991) at Guildford, before moving to London to teach English as a second language. He became a lawyer after he found work at a legal firm and completed his legal qualifications. Choudary became the chairman of the Society of Muslim Lawyers, but was removed from the roll of solicitors (the official register of legal practitioners) in 2002.

He never studied Shariah, nor Usuluddin nor Quran nor Hadith as part of his education!

I am sorry to hear that since you guys listen to every idiot and moron on the planet you cant tell the difference between BS talkers and real ones...Seriously you guys need to go back to grade 2 where they teach you difference between good and bad!

. And they disagree with you.
If you agree with them then why approach me and others who have shunned them or know Chaudary has no formal education and the Arab guy is a nut bag shunned from his won community!? You agree with them and ISIS....terrorist supporter is the only title for you

our allegation about my ignorance makes no difference to me, as I am not the one in the dock.
Yet you are a terrorist supporter coz you call them truthful and agree with them! We shun them and call them liars! BIG difference there and yes you are ignorant!

aforementioned scholars.
I think only in india do they present the word "scholar" to a butcher! Coz neither of them are...Dont know about Arab guy no proper background about his education but EVERYONE knows Chaudary never had formal ISLAMIC EDUCATION....Nothing to label him scholar!

But innocent people are getting killed while you can't decide as to which is the real Islam.
Truth is ONLY you cant! Just look at my articles! MANY non Muslims can see it ...But indians are still blind.. :tsk: RIP!

. Why don't you call a global conference on this issue and settle it?
Coz I am not a govt worker....But I do my part! Unlike you I dont agree with terrorists!

Well then it has been a long history of US, the super power of the world, kowtowing to the demands of Saudis but how do you explain the Iran-US deal on nuclear issue since Saudis were publicly the most ardent opponents of that deal.? Your theory fails here and actually is hilarious for the audience and blasphemous for Uncle sam as suggesting that Uncle Sam is brainless chicken kowtowing to Saudis.

There clerics have many more followers than you do, so their word counts for more than yours. We have all, at some point in life, felt that someone else has gotten ill-deserved recognition for their (ill)efforts. Nevertheless, your efforts at mud-slinging are unwarranted - they are just pious people who go about their daily lives like millions of others, and just want the freedom to preach their religion to others. Making ad hominem attacks on their character and questioning their credentials will not get you anywhere - you have to adress the merits of their arguments. You should not be jealous of their popularity. If it irks you so much, you should also start your own preaching school where you can instruct the ignorant and gullible masses your own in version of the Koran and Sahih al-Bukhari.

Queen Rania: Let's Drop The First 'I' In ISIS. There's Nothing Islamic About Them

Queen must understand she has only as much authority over Islam as the next guy. Religion, Islam or any other, is always subject to one's own interpretation. For ISIS, Queen's Un-Islamic; for Queen, ISIS is. Who's to decide?
Only when majority of the Muslims, instead of doing nothing, reject ISIS' actions and not only verbally but physically, then and only then gradually a perception will develop that ISIS is un-Islamic. And what do they say about perception?
Words simply won't do the job.

.
I believe its time Saudia and other Arab nations including Israel form a combined task force to destroy ISIS instead of begging NATO to do their dirty job for them. Jordan, Syria alone cannot defeat them. Turkey should start the initiative.

But there is no will among Arab countries like Saudi, Qatar, UAE or Kuwait.

.
There clerics have many more followers than you do, so their word counts for more than yours.
Their word whatever it is has nothing to do with ISLAM! Since they arent learrned in it!

We have idiots all over the world, people also followed Hitler, Stalin, Bushes to wars....

We have all, at some point in life, felt that someone else has gotten ill-deserved recognition for their (ill)efforts
Now it is the job of the media to show that Chaudary isnt a scholar as they have been labeling him on BBC....he has nothing to give him that label!

mud-slinging
And here we have the terrorist sympathizer!

pious people
Do you evne know the meaning? I guess terrorist sympathizer doesnt :agree:

ad hominem attacks on their character
Wonderful job terrorist sympathizer

their credentials
You mean non existent credentials.... :agree:

merits of their arguments.
None exists many "SCHOLARS" already have ....Repeatedly but you are not only deaf and dumb but also blind!

ranting like the troll @waz @Slav Defence @Icarus

just like there was no will in France until they got attacked! Likewise these Arab nations are also human...not until they get a flame of hot lava thrown on them they wont feel the burn!
