Qatari-Turkish Unified Joint Command Headquarters Opened

Those trolls think that a tiny military base that KSA could level within seconds, is what was/is stopping KSA, lol.

They forget that Qatar's only neighbor is KSA. That Qatar is an Arab country that shares everything in common with KSA. That the Qatari people are originally from KSA. That despite deep political disagreements and Qatari misbehavior, Qatar is still a part of the GCC and KSA's and Qatar's military are still taking part in the same military exercises and share intel etc. Turks (Erdogan regime) on the other hand are nothing more than foreigners for Qataris and a cheap holiday destination and a way to make money (investing and buying up Turkey and later selling for a larger fee).

Qatar cannot survive if they have bad relations with KSA on the long run. They will dump Erdogan very quickly once the current Emir grows wiser or reaches a deal with KSA/GCC/Egypt etc.

Also don't forget that the largest US military base in the region is located in Qatar. USA is against KSA incorporating those small GCC states as KSA would be even more powerful. Those small GCC states are too valuable for the powers of the world for them to be removed for the time being.

Just remember Kuwait and the First Gulf War.

political disagreements aside I do not see the point of picking a fight with the Saudi royal family

House of Saud is not relevant here. I am talking people to people relations. People of KSA and Qatar (natives) are the same. To put it even more clearly, there are only around 350.000 Qataris (actual citizens) and all of them are originally from modern-day KSA, including the ruling al-Thani family. If there will be an annexation from KSA it will be an mutual annexation where the people of the GCC/Arabia decide to become one entity as throughout the millennia whether it was under ancient cultures, civilizations, empires, caliphates, kingdoms, sultanates, emirates, sheikdoms, imamates etc.

However the neighborhood fears/is not interested in a single Arabian entity (country) nor the world powers (USA, Russia, China) as that country would be too powerful controlling over half of the world's oil (more than that) and gas and the most strategic sea trade routes. It would automatically become an economy that would rival France/UK not forgetting the huge population increase. Yemen alone will have 100 million people within 2-3 decades if not sooner.

It is a conflict between brothers/cousins (ruling families) that originate in politics and the two recent Qatari emirs thinking that Qatar can turn into a superpower without the landmass, population, history etc. to do so while hurting their most close brothers in the process.

This MB obsession, bankrolling the failing Turkish economy (in return they gain a lot though, including access to strategic projects) and being against most Arab states abroad 24/7, while at the same time hosting the largest US base in the region, is nothing more than Qatar trying to gain more power than necessary.

Similarly with Al-Jazeera that they created in 1995. I applaud the idea and I am proud that an Arab media is one of the most influential in the world, but the one-sided coverage (never any bad focus on Qatar who itself is a monarchy) cannot be taken seriously. It should be used to strengthen the Arabs and the Arab world but instead it divides it currently.

I don't disagree with everything forcing policy wise that Qatar does, sometimes they do better than KSA, but overall policy is hard to be a fan of.

I fully understand - I do not see much differences between Saudis and Qataris.

To put it simply, it is not a conflict where the actual people are involved (Saudi Arabians, Emiratis, Bahrainis, Egyptians and Qataris) but a conflict among the ruling elite (families) and fight for power. Qatar's leadership is very ambitious and have always had inferiority complexes towards KSA because KSA was/is bigger than them on every front other than gas reserves. That and having an irresponsible fear of KSA annexing them and thus the Al-Thani family losing power and their existence.

So since Qatar cannot beat KSA on any front other than the gas front and a higher GDP, due to a 150-200 times smaller population, they (the two recent Al-Thani emirs and their followers from within) to bankroll the failed MB project and align with Erdogan's AKP regime (who can only use MB to gain influence in the Muslim world) and at the same alienate all their closest brothers and sisters and down the road endanger themselves. All due to wanting more influence/power. Similarly with all the vanity projects in Qatar/UAE. You don't see that in KSA as we don't need that stuff.

But rest assured, Qatar cannot survive (on the long run) without having very friendly ties with KSA and even if the House of Saud will be removed, we Arabs/Arabians will never allow that Qatar turns into a foreign base attempted to threaten us. In fact House of Saud is too weak for me in this conflict. If people could decide in the GCC, we would unite tomorrow.

I would have liked to see a difference in the course of recent history, with Saddam Hossain allying with Saudi after 1991 and the two countries militarizing further to jointly Arabize the region.

It was a total failure and catastrophe. If this was done correctly, imagine what could have emerged? Maybe one large, strong and prosperous state (all of GCC and Iraq, eventually Jordan as well as other Arab states) united with the same ideology and removal of certain elements in power if you know what I am eluding to here. At the same time we know that nobody in the region would have looked at it favorably nor the world powers (back then USA) which is why USA went bonkers after the invasion of Kuwait. Personally I don't think that an invasion was necessary as the disagreements could have been dealt with peacefully and ideally there would be some kind of unity (federal state) instead that everyone would have accepted.

Similarly the US would never allow KSA to annex any GCC country and even if people voted for some kind of unification (like people in Crimea with Russia) the same West would do everything to stop it alongside the usual suspects in the region be they Turkey, Iran next door or Israel. All would be against it. Easier to influence a fragmented Arab world.

Qatar being a great example.

But anyway I was not even born when the First Gulf War occurred but I know that my family looks back at it as a catastrophe for well-known reasons, mostly in the Iraqi context.

All of us must be like Saddam, it's like when the religious strives to be like the scholar. You are struggling everyday in your pursuit of walking Saddam's path

.
You are so stupid it's beyond normal now. What do they feed you in Egypt media everyday?

İncirlik airbase is a Turkish airbase also used by USA and even used by Saudi Arabia at times and other countries who have permission.

To protect from Russia[emoji23][emoji23]. Its so strategically located in the south of Turkey to protect from an attack from North from Russia.
Ironically ..... that the 2 countries have more than 1 Major American Military bases :usflag:
to protect them against Russia and Saudi Arabia respectively.

Then Both claim defending the Muslim World ... a pure hypocrisy.:undecided:

.
If not physical, Pak must have a “spiritual” presence there....

A great initiative...

Next in line, Libya-Turkey joint command center....
