The Qataris are in exclusive talks, and talks have advanced, and to be the first buyers of French military aircraft.

France, will finally be able to sell the Rafale abroad?

Dassault is in exclusive talks with India too .

And according to Europe 1 information, a contract could soon be announced with Qatar.

A contract 2.5 billion . France and Qatar are indeed very advanced talks to buy at least 24 planes, and the list price, about $ 2.5 billion and a half euros in total.

According to our information, France is negotiating direct way with the Qatari. Clearly, there are no other candidates vying to sell them airplanes.

As long as it is not announced, but we can not yet claim victory, is it still says in the French camp. Everyone is a little scared after countless failures from the sale of Rafale abroad.

The first contract is the hardest . France nevertheless relies on this order, since it is now the only customer of this warplane made in France. At the highest level of the state, we recognize it: the first contract is the hardest to get. The Qatari contract could therefore unlock contracts with other countries.

Besides India, discussions are particularly open with Malaysia for example. It must be said that the Rafale is easier to sell today. Potential customers have seen in action in Libya and the Middle East. And according to a French diplomat, there 's no photo, it is better than its competitors.

This year is jackpot for France selling dozens of Rafale.

.
France needs to sell these even if they lose money on the deal which they won't, but if worse comes to worse you can't just bank on India.

need to spread the Rafale love around.

:o:
This is confusing................:undecided:
Do they mean $2.5Bn or €2.5Bn?o_O

Or do they really mean $2.5bn and 1/2 €:cuckoo:

half of $2.5bn in euros would be 1.25bn euros, but the dollar to euro exchange is 0.81 so it would be 2 billion euros???

:bounce::bounce: maybe

. . . .
BOL Qatari air force. No doubt this deal will increase their operational capabilities. :)

.
Also as RJAF is selling off its F-16s to PAF then will they going to buy EF-2000s or Rafaels?

jordan will stay with EF.

I have a strong feeling that jordan will keep with the rest of the GCC, and choose EF.

Qatar is the france of GCC. They like to go their own way for some reason ...

Qatar should buy both F-35 and Rafale, a Fifth Gen and 4.5 Gen combination, and later Pakistani pilots could have a nice look into it.
