Putin outsmarts EU as new China gas deal to pump 'same amount' as banned German pipeline, worsens Europe's gas crisis
RUSSIAN President Vladimir Putin is reportedly in the final stages of making a deal with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on building a new pipeline that could further worsen Europe's gas crisis.

The agreement would double exports to China, transporting up to fifty billion cubic metres more natural gas every year via a major new planned pipeline - Power of Siberia 2. This comes as the rest of Europe reels from a major energy crisis, with prices climbing to a new record last week, up almost 800 percent since the start of the year. The EU's energy crisis has intensified in the past weeks after nuclear reactors were halted in France, with Germany recording low wind power output.

The resultant power shortage has prompted countries to burn more coal and even oil to keep the lights on and homes warm, flying in the face of the COP26 commitment to phase out fossil fuels.

Experts have accused Mr Putin of tinkering with gas supplies in order to pressure the European Union into approving the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

The new pipeline will see gas transited from Russia into Germany, bypassing Poland and Ukraine. But after getting hit with delays, certification remains suspended.

Analysts warn that this new pipeline would give Russia further leverage over Europe, which would leave the bloc powerless to stop the Kremlin’s growing aggression towards Ukraine.

Danil Buchkov, an expert on Russia and China relations, said: "Power of Siberia 2 will supply gas from Siberia’s Yamal Peninsula, source of gas exported to Europe.

"Western officials worry project could have geopolitical implications for European nations before they embark in earnest on transition to renewables.

"The planned Power of Siberia 2 pipeline will be able to pump into China around the same amount that Nord Stream 2 would be able to transport to Europe, giving the Kremlin more options about who gets the gas and at what price."

Brandon Weichert, a geopolitical analyst, told Express.co.uk that Europe’s dependence on Russian gas will mean they will eventually have to cave to Moscow’s pressure.

The two countries installed the first direct natural gas pipeline called the Power of Siberia in 2019.

The second pipeline, Power of Siberia 2 is expected to start operating in 2030 and will be owned by China National Petroleum, and Gazprom.

Mr Weichert explained: “The move gives Russia more money and allows for them to evade the sanctions that the West has been subjecting Moscow to since their unlawful annexation of Crimea in 2014.”

Mr Weichert said that it is inevitable that Russia will come out on top, as the West will have to give in to Mr Putin’s demands to keep gas prices stable.

Europe's scourge are France and Britain. Neither country has Europe's best interests at heart. This became evident when Britain and France attacked Libya, destroying the country in the process, at the behest of America. What followed was the flood gates opening up for migrants make for Europe in their droves. Yet both countries moan and complain about the so-called migrant crisis, when it is the leadership of these very countries who created this crisis by attacking Libya. Since both countries claim to be democratic, one has to ask, where were the the citizens of France and Britain to hold their governments accountable for the fiasco in Libya? Surely this is one more in the string of instances where democracy has clearly failed, manifestly shamefully.

Fast forward to present day and we are standing a similar crossroads. Europe is paying the price to follow the instrinscly soulless West which is led by America, Britain and France. One thing is dead certain, if you mess with Russia, then Russia hit back and it will hit back hard .... bloodied nose hard!!! As it has gone on far too long, where the West has invaded, bombed, murdered and occupied other nations with impunity. It is Europe which will suffer the most and those who follow the West blindly, are in for an eye opening shock!

Russia planning new gas transit pipeline to China

Russian gas monopoly Gazprom finalises technical details of gas transit pipeline in Mongolia as the company gears to grow Russian pipeline gas exports to China

By Vladimir Afanasiev

Russia's Gazprom has completed a study on the technical and economic feasibility of a second gas export pipeline to China, denominated Sila Sibiri 2.

According to the company’s statement, the study covers a 963 kilometre transit section of a pipeline known as Soyuz-Vostok. pipeline project.

This segment of the project will be built using 140 centimetre diametre pipes and will have five compressor stations to keep Russian gas flowing to Mongolia.

Russian policy means Gazprom is likely to order both pipes and pipelaying services from a narrow group of contractors that have been catering for the monopoly for years.

Gazprom said that it has employed local contractors for works on on-site research, engineering and environmental mapping along the projected route of the new pipeline that is planned to pass the capital Ulaanbaatar.

A representative of Gazprom-led operator of Soyuz-Vostok pipeline told Mongolia’s news agency Montsame that the construction will require around 12,000 builders at its peak, of which 20% are expected to be hired locally.

Gazprom has yet to agree terms for gas price sales and volumes of annual supply in China, or on the route to continue the pipeline inside China, but the statement suggests that construction of the Soyuz-Vostok pipeline could begin in 2024.

Soyuz Vostok will be part of the Sila Sibiri 2 pipeline system that will extend for 6700 kilometres, allowing |Gazprom intends to connect its prolific gas fields in the Yamal-Nenets region and deliver up to 50 billion cubic metres per annum of additional gas to China and its capital, Beijing.

Under an existing gas supply contract between Russia and China state-run Gazprom is already contracted to deliver up to 38 Bcm of gas per annum from 2025, with gas to be produced at the Chayanda and Kovykta fields in East Siberia and shipped via the Sila Sibiri pipeline.

Earlier in January, Gazprom said that its gas deliveries via Sila Sibiri to China are already running 150% higher than in the corresponding period of 20212, but did not provided any exact figures.

Its high time we cut gas delivery from russia down to smaller amounts. Europe must be Independent from autocratic regimes.

Germany are not known for making the best choices

Russia alredy did the favor and cut supplies. Enjoy $1000 gas and astronomic electricity prices.

Vassal states should be dependent only on its master

We dont use gas and our electricity bill is cheap since we installed solar system on our roof.

Thats the future, renewable energy.
