What's new

Punjab's New Counter Terrorism Force !

I think they did it right by issuing them camo uniforms, they should behave like a paramilitary more like FC or Rangers but should be specifically targeting terrorists, once this Punjab ctf is established properly with a few thousand troops, they can be used, for operations in south Punjab against radicals, similar force is underway in KPK and should be used to replace army in the long term in Waziristan and swat and same goes for balochistan, this will allow army to concentrate on eastern border, these guys should be handed over some hind Mi 35 gunships

.
That's what I was trying to tell you. This is a quick response force. They are trained in COT (Counter Terrorism) and Quick Response to different terrorism related incidents. The initial batch came from the Rangers. So the elite ranges can get into the Quick Response force. This will be applicable to all states within Pakistan as they are developing a regional base model. Rangers will then come on top of these guys as the first layer of semi military defense.
As far as i know the first batch is of existing Elite ATS and some new recruits from NTS examination, that is how the first batch was raised, am talking about the corporal ranked personnel..... Inspector and above ranks from filled from Armed Forces......

According to reports KPK is training around 2400 for this force @RescueRanger

. . .
If KPK alone can train 2400 at once than why only 1300 in Punjab which has the population of around 10 crore

And the Punjab and KPK ATS has same training ?

No curriculum varies. And regarding the numbers, it's because of many issues but mainly funding and budget allocation.

. .
I am talking about fighting training
Yes and that is different. There is no Set manual sadly, some follow the COBRA course modules, some follow the CRT modules, ATS Basic I Basic II and Advanced batches have separate lessons, Advanced CRT has separate lessons.

If you are referring to martial arts/etc then those vary too. Some teach Karate-Do, some teach Judo and mixture of a few martial arts, depends on the instructors on site. A lot of it will depend on the Commandant of Training School, who will look at set curriculum and adopt it, many also get feedback from experts that visit from Army.

Why can't they just ask Army to send 4 to 6 instructors and develop same course for every one and all the SWAT Force should be under federal government with unified command

@RescueRanger Can you also post the details of these courses you mentioned in above comment Please in a separate thread

The first ad for the recruitment was posted back in Novr 2013 - recruiting Corporal at the salary of Rs.75000/-
exams were held somewhere in Jan i believe, those who passed were called for physical - now physical test was conducted for all those who passed - even though a physical fitness standard was set -
The first batch went under training in April I believe - this was pretty open recruitment - with Results being posted by NTS in Public domain ---- Batch was suppose to train for 9 months

Damn, I need to get myself updated. Thanks for the info. Please remove my quoted post from your last post since I've deleted mine..
