LAHORE:

Islami Jamiat Talba, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, is harbouring militants in the Punjab University hostels, :pissed: Dr Mujahid Kamran, the university’s vice chancellor, said on Tuesday.

“Illegal occupants were living in PU hostels,” Dr Kamran said, accepting his failure to keep the hostels free of elements involved in militant activities.

Recently, intelligence agencies have arrested a suspect believed to be an associate of al Qaeda from the PU hostel.

He did not answer media queries why the university administration had not taken action against the illegal occupants, but said a police operation could be launched to dislodge such elements from the hostels.

However, Jamiat has refuted the claim. IJT Punjab southern nazim Rai Haq Nawaz and IJT nazim of PU Abdul Muqeet accused the VC of “trying to defame Jamiat” to hide his own inefficiency.

“IJT has no connection with any banned organisation. The university administration is shifting the blame on the IJT to save its own skin,” Haq Nawaz said. “The VC has hired a personal militia for his protection but there are no guards for the hostels,” Muqeet said.

The administration and hostel wardens give refuge to illegal residents at the hostels and then use the name of IJT, the office bearers said.

That's true and these IJT(JI) goons has to kicked out from university as they are not to build education environment but mafia environment. In general not a single such organization should be allowed to operate in universities & colleges.

Jamat e Islami now getting exposed , Their goons occupy all educational institutes

Nothing new. Jamat e Islami has been up to this for decades. Its time we treat them like Bangladesh has done to its own.

PU has been overrun by militants for quite a while. They operate the same way patrolling the university grounds for couples, girls without dupattas and perhaps clean shaved males as well now too. High time someone does something about it.

Over the period of time these political parties have made hostels as sanctuaries of militants, i will not use the word extremist or terrorist. Unless, there is a check on who is living in hostel and for how long, this menace cannot be controlled. Universities do not have any idea as to how many of their ex-students or expelled students live there. Hostels need to be regulated properly to ensure conducive educational environment.

A result of Sab Chalta Hai culture.

jamiyat openly operates in Universities/colleges, they should be disbanded with rigorous force.

they not only harbour terrorists but also give a hiding place to criminals, plus they are ugly to the core in their ideology too.

few days back there was a news piece reporting 13 terrorist and a Al Qaeda leader was caught from PU premises

I don't think militant come from somewhere and stay there by themselves. To me it looks like some section of students agree with the militant ideologies and hosts them in the hostel. Its the job of the authorities to filter out such students and take full control of the hostel.

university ka ye hal hai to aage kya hoga. har shakh pe ullu baitha hai, anjam e gulsitan kya hoga /
