Punjab bans dancing at school events

I myself am not a big fan of filmy events. Although I understand that it's fun and mostly harmless.
But I can't live without our traditional dance events in schools that incorporate dozens of dance forms.

Pakistani provinces may not have such grand cultural events in their schools, but this ban will kill off any such attempt to rejuvenate them. This is a bad precedence, regardless of whether it's aimed at Indian music.
Bro,

Here is an example:

This Indian naach-gaana / mujra does not represent our values.

.
since when dancing is not part of our culture or doing it in public an immoral and haram act :o:

Bro tradional dance cool but not what we seeing these days in morning shows or some pvt schools. Or if someone wanna practice it do in private don’t need to put it up in media, though I am fully agreed to stop Mujra as well no mater where and who and why.

.
@LeGenD i failed to see how dancing is even remotely related to progress and development
I am not against traditional dancing practices - they are decent for public events and fun to watch.

I am against "promoting vulgarity" in the name of dancing. Indian mujra for example.

Education is not about teaching mathematics only. It is about transforming young people into productive citizens for the society per its norms and values.

.
We have our traditional dancing practices which are decent for public events.

However, I strongly object to exposing kids to Indian naach-gaana culture.

I second this. No kids should be ever exposed to such acts. Once the kids have grown up and then they decide to pursue this then it is fine.

Per se dancing and singing are not haram in Islam but the musical instruments are other than "Daff". However vulgarity is not allowed by the first principle and nothing is more vulgar than the cheap indian culture.

No they just strap a bomb and kill dozens be is school children or as applicable
Don't try to derail the thread with your nonsense.

@war&peace

It is Pakistan, not USA where school children go firing with guns and kill fellow students and teachers.

Ha, ha, that was a nice comeback. To be fair, in Amerikkkan schools both dance and gunning down peeps is allowed.

Regards

I do not drag India into everything. My contributions are context-oriented.

I fully understand what is happening and what this ban is all about.
3rd rate attitude to arts is the reason why you have these bans. Nearly every country in the world dancing events in schools. You have to scratch your head to find any who don't. Pakistan needs to stop pushing religions laws into people's personal lives like sets arab nations .

Wise decision. We are not Indians and neither we should behave like them.

Exactly. Dancing is an extremely hateful action that is limited to Indians only.

Dance, arts and music is what defines culture. Without these things nations are internally dead. The govt hasn't had the balls to stop radicalisation and student organizations affiliated with banned outfits but banned such an extreme idea such an idea of dancing. Why ? Because MUH GHAIRAT.

What do we or school going children learn from dancing? Or what do they / we gain from or by dancing? Serious ...... anything that is unique to dancing only and cannot be gained from another form of activity ........?
