PTI to present tax-free, people-friendly budget: Khattak
KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the new budget has big good news for the people, adding the PTI will present a people-friendly and tax-free budget. Addressing different public meetings in Union Council Dagai, district Nowshera, he said that the PTI government has initiated started action against the corrupt officials of the previous government. He said that now the province is not under Dako Raj and now the elected government will resolve the problems of the poor at their door steps.
The public meeting was also addressed by MNA Dr Imran Khattak, ex. MPA Liaqat Khattak, Advisor to CM Rafaqatullah Babar, Ishaq Khattak, Engineer Fawad Khan, Akbar Hussain and Master Zulfikar. The chief minister said that corruption, loot & plunder and exploitation of poor on the basis of wealth would prevail no more. Everyone knows that during previous government institutions were destroyed and there was price for everything. But, now the chances of corruption have been closed and that is the reason behind conspiracies of opposition against their transparent government. However, he said they have no concern for them and their government would complete its constitutional term of five years. He said that they will not bow before the blackmailing of anyone.
Terming criticism on the performance of the KP government by some ministers from Punjab and federal governments as uncalled for, he clarified that judges of their performance are the people, which during by-elections voted the candidate of our party. He questioned Punjab's Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and others to tell that if the people were satisfied from their performance, then why they lost Pindi Bhatian by-election and PTI candidate remained triumphant. He said that in fact the government established on the foundations of punctures and rigging is on the verge of collapse, which had rendered them sleepless. The chief minister said that they would construct infrastructure in the province adding that they would improve the existing educational and medical facilities and would restore the confidence of the people. He announced a development package of Rs 210 million for Union Council Dagai, which included construction of Rs 70.5 million Dagai Bridge, Rs 20 million for construction of link roads, 23 transformers and electric poles, Rs 10 million each for drainage, agriculture tube-wells and provision of clean drinking water.
The chief minister also announced the reconstruction of the building of Dagai High School from next year. The provincial government, he said had elected with the votes of the people and their top priorities are included the service of the people, revival of institutions, eradication of corruption and commission and expulsion of corrupt officials from the province. He said the government had enforced maximum reforms and now poor have been given respect at police stations and patwarkhanas.
He said that though they had purged government offices of political interference, but if still they are facing any problem and lacking respect, then they should contact him directly. He also asked the PESCO authorities for bringing improvement in their performance.
He said that the patience of the people is running out and they had already raised the matters of load shedding and additional gas with the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and very soon they would produce 400 megawatt electricity and establish seven new industrial estates to usher industrial revolution and abolish unemployment from the province.
Pervez Khattak said that large-scale reforms have been introduced in health and education sectors and hefty allocations have been made for them. He said that during new financial year they would not establish any new school or hospital, but would fill the deficiency of teachers, doctors and other staff and facilities in the existing facilities. For this purpose, budget to tone of billions of rupees are being allocated.
The chief minister said that poor will get free medicines and education facilities in hospitals and schools to groom the children of poor for higher posts. He said instead of 10 per cent wealthy they would take care of 90 per cent poor population and their talented children. He stressed the teachers for educating the children and guaranteeing attendance. He said that now monitoring teams will conduct raids and absent staff would have to face the music. He said that the development of the new generation and now the examinations of class-V, VIII and X would be conducted under the supervision of board.
