Decision taken on the orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan

LAHORE: A committee has been formed, on the proposal of Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, to appoint Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf activists at various nongovernmental posts in the province.

The decision was taken on the orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The meeting will be held in Lahore on August 19.

The team, working under the supervision of Sarwar, pointed out in its briefing that there are more than 0.3 million positions in 39 provincial departments where workers can be appointed.

On the other hand, the performance of political leaders appointed in some key government positions is also being reviewed. It was stated that those who have performed poorly, or are not interested in public service, can be replaced.

During the last few months, especially in Ramazan, complaints and demands had been mounting, but the PTI leadership failed to make necessary appointments. Most of the key government positions, against which the political appointments were made, ended up being controversial as it was believed they had been done on the basis of personal choices and preferences.

Sources said Sarwar had expressed his concerns with the prime minister that there are a large number of posts in various provincial departments where educated activists of PTI could be adjusted. He urged that the step be taken immediately.

The prime minister agreed to the proposal of the governor and formed a committee to identify nongovernmental posts in various departments and suggest the names of workers for the posts.

The committee members included Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Punjab central leader Abdul Aleem Khan, PTI Central Secretary General Aamir Kayani, Chief Organizer Saif Niazi, Punjab’s President Ejaz Chaudhry, President of South Punjab Noor Bhabha, Punjab General Secretary Shoaib Siddiqui, South Punjab General Secretary Ali Dareshak, Central Senior Vice President Arshad Dad, Rabia Zia and Ijaz Minhas.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Rabia Zia said that by adjusting activists against different posts, we can serve the people at the grassroots level. She added timely feedback on issues could also be received through this step.

The final decision will be made by the prime minister and the chief minister of Punjab.

There is already military take over more or less

I could understand the need if these were government posts, if current civil service of beaurocrats aren't working with you - change them. However non government posts? What does that even mean? They'll get them jobs at Burger King?
Just a way to use taxpayer money on party workers = corruption
