LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) on Monday rescheduled the dates for its planned countrywide ‘shutdown’ after lawmakers from the party met on Monday to discuss their ‘Plan C’.

The dates for the ‘shutdown’ of Lahore and the countrywide shutdown are now December 15 and December 18 respectively.

Earlier, unveiling his much-talked-about ‘Plan-C’ at a massive rally on Sunday, the PTI chairman threatened a countrywide shutdown on December 16 if his longstanding demand for an independent audit of the May 2013 elections was not accepted.

“I will go to Lahore and shut it down on December 4. On December 8, I will shut down Faisalabad, on December 12, I will shut down Karachi, and on December 16, I will bring the entire country to a standstill if an inquiry is not initiated into the electoral fraud,” he told hundreds of thousands of his supporters on the Constitution Avenue in Islamabad.

PTI Punjab Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas, while speaking to The Express Tribune said that the date for Lahore had been revised in light of other activities and protests that are scheduled to take place in the city.

Abbas said the party has decided to bring the city to a halt on December 15, adding that no calls for a ‘shutter-down’ strike had been made by the party.

Jamaatud-Dawa (JuD) was scheduled to hold its rally on December 4 and 5 in Lahore. According to PTI sources, the dates were rescheduled to avoid holding the rally on the same day as JuD.

PTI Vice Chairperson Shah Mehmood Qureshi confirmed that the date for countrywide shutdown has been changed from December 16 to December 18. He said that the decision comes after consulting with the party’s leadership.

Perhaps they realized their capabilities

The question is how PTI will shut down the whole city. I think only MQM has this capacity to close down the entire city

Is banday ka koi deen Iman b hay K nahi ?

For all the talk about integrity & never moving from his point of view , this man(IK) has not even once stood true to his own words .

What a waste of my vote .

. . . . . .
Fcuk IK & PTI than, I changed my air ticket from 16 to 18 today because of his yesterdays announcement of idiotic plan-c
I will be there on 12 December. :D

Did someone told him what happened on 16 dec?
Yes, IK's uncle surrendered in Dhaka instead of choosing to be slaughtered by Indians and Bengalis :D

.
If PTI manages to shutdown Karachi, then that means MQM is giving them the green signal behind the scenes. But I'm sure they'll be able to exert quite an influence. Even if half Karachi shuts down then it means Altaf Bhai is taking centre stance not leaning towards govt neither towards PTI. Let's see and hope for the best.

I think the jokes about his plan C got to him. :lol Thus he changed the date. Wonder what plan D will be. Most probably another rally in lahore which will be of no end and fanboys will boast its success like the civil disobedience movement. :coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:
