Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA Ziaullah Afridi on Saturday warned that his supporters would besiege the office of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission (KPEC) if PTI chairman Imran Khan did not take notice of the ‘misuse of powers’ by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.
Speaking at a crowded press conference at Peshawar Press Club, the disgruntled lawmaker said that the KPEC had lost its importance in the eyes of pubic as it failed to take action against many corrupt people.
“I can call it a commission of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak which is aimed at victimising me and none others,” he said and added that had the government established it for curbing corruption it would have arrested many other former and sitting ministers. He claimed that the KPEC had victimised him at the behest of the chief minister.

Ziaullah alleges KPEC victimised him at the behest of Pervez Khattak

Mr Afridi pointed out that at their public meetings both Mr Khan and Mr Khattak were openly criticising former ministers of Awami National Party and Pakistan Peoples Party for their involvement in corruption, but they were not arrested which was astonishing.
On this occasion the lawmaker also showed some evidences to the media, claiming that all the cases against him (Ziaullah) were fabricated. He said that the actual culprits involved in the loot and plunder of mines and minerals were rooming freely.
He alleged that some of the investigators associated with the KPEC were also involved in corruption and cases had been registered against them during his tenure as former minister of mines and mineral development.
The PTI chairman, he said, was misled by influential people in the party and now it was up to the party chief to save his ideology or the corrupt elements.
“We are party workers and have also attended its last protest against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over Panama Leaks,” he said.
The lawmaker said that if the PTI chief failed to take notice of his complaints against the commission the party workers would have the only option to besiege its offices in Hayatabad.
“If we can go to Islamabad against the federal government then our workers can also go to Hayatabad to besiege the commission offices,” he warned without setting any deadline.
Mr Afridi said that he always followed rules and had even taken action against very close relatives of the chief minister, which infuriated him.
