The recently declare schedule for party elections is a good omen and tradition in Pakistani politics by any means, PTI deserves recognition for its efforts in this aspect. However, the initial response witnesses and the trends emerging around this important exercise is worth to watch and ponder for the sole objectives of political learning as it mostly turning out that PTI delves itself in a lengthy self evolution exercise and that too moments before a Big-Ben i.e. General Elections completely unnecessarily.
The schism emerges within party ranks amongst Old and New party faithfull's as soon as the famous 30th Oct, Lahore Jalsa concludes as PTI starts to accept people from other parties in droves the moment it receive an otherwise widespread recognition. Apart from the debate of who is more beneficial to the party, it's now becomes a hard fact that the new comers are more shrewd, resourceful, organized, cunning & greedy than the previous lot and that simple fact making old ones uneasy towards a "tilt" with examples spreading around web on daily basis, the initial Idea to resolve leadership crisis amongst both these groups and ensure unity at all ranks is only turning out otherwise completely.
Mostly bcz the top leadership being seen as hypocrites by ensuring their already held positions intact for whatever reasons, while majority of the old & loyal junior cadres left in absolute political wilderness and a struggle all alone with such formidable opponents who not only enjoys deep roots amongst potential electables but at the same time knows collectively how to influence any election results at any level out of sheer political experience.
On top of it, the senior leadership through its various directives and statements ensuring it as well that only those will prosper and come forwards who commands influence amongst majority no matter whatever means they employ, instead of crude party loyalty or ideals.....this makes the old faces completely lost and in disarray even before they went into any contest on their own.
Post election period will be more daunting administratively as no one easily agreed on less what he enjoys in past, definitely there will be more revolts and internal feuds within party we already witnessing currently and just compares it what PTI finally gets out of it i.e. same kinds of those Ibn-ul-Waqt people we sees in our assemblies now a days with their absolute shortcomings, minus some exceptions.
All in all, Post party elections PTI will be a New Party, ready for power politics to teeth BUT On the expense of its hardly earned complexion of 30th Oct, 2011......A conclusion most ordinary people on the streets already agreed upon in general
