Yes PTI govt is going to build two new cities, one near Abbotabad and one on Peshawar-islamabad motorway. shared the news item here, let me find it for you...

Although KP's govt is bit slow than expected but they surely are moving towards right direction. I am desperate to see these projects being materialized soon and start giving results.

yar the problem is law and order situation, and its not just about the investment being insecure but its about property being vulnerable b to threats/damage and also personal security... as long as law and order doesnot improve, investment would be slow to come... hope it improved by 2015.

Education cities to be established in Punjab
ISLAMABAD, Aug 18: The Punjab government has requested the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to establish education cities in Punjab where foreign education institutions will be encouraged to open their campuses to provide quality education within the country.

This was stated by provincial minister for higher education and youth affairs, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, during a meeting with Chairperson HEC Dr Javaid R Laghari at the commission’s headquarter in Islamabad.

During the meeting, it was decided that internet connections would be provided to all colleges in Punjab. The colleges would also be linked to HEC’s e-library which would provide students access to nearly 25,000 books and journals online.

Furthermore, it was decided that a faculty training programme for teachers would be launched soon. The effective implementation of Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, establishment of the country’s first laptop assembling plant, and the enrollment emergency campaign were also discussed in the meeting.

The minister was of the view that the move to assemble laptops in the country would not only help strengthen the indigenous capacity to manufacture laptops but would also create job opportunities for unemployed youth.

Members of the meeting were told that the Board of Investment (BOI) would organise an international investors’ conference to establish the country’s first laptop assembling plant.

Similarly, the members were told that the Punjab education ministry would establish a complaint cell to address various educational issues, and a proper ‘performance evaluation mechanism’ would be developed for teachers.

Media manager of HEC, Murtaza Noor, while talking to Dawn said with every passing day, it was becoming difficult to get higher education abroad as the visa process had become very difficult for students.

“Students have to spend a lot of funds on education abroad, and establishing campuses of foreign institutions in Pakistan would provide them quality education within the country. An education city will first be established in Lahore and then in other cities,” he said.

Good step though, best of luck with the endeavor.

Blame these religious nutjobs and their bizarre version of how we should live their lives.

Its funny, before 2001 these fools would shut the f**k up and stay in their little sh*tholes waiting to die so they can meet their maker and tell them what a self imposing lost fool they've been in their lives.

Pakistanis were left alone to create, and when we create, we make wonderful things. There is so much creative talent in this country it is unbelievable, it is time we tell these fools no more. Get out of our country and go live in a cave with your Afghan friends.

We will let God judge us, not these brainless hacks.

so what we need is just training institute to train a person ftom far mountains of Gilgit, from wadera culture of interiour Sindh and from normads of Baloch Qabails…
Artists are everywhere not in just Lahore dear
btw i just know 2 arts institures one is NCA and other is Lahore college of arts……

Abbottabad has the highest literacy rate in the whole of country. I agree we need one education city in Abbottabad as well as Peshawar and near FATA. Where poverty is in masses, education is most necessary.
