- Massive protests erupted in Pakistan occupied Kashmir on Wednesday over the authenticity of the elections held on 21 July. The elections resulted in Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) taking 32 of the 42 seats.
- The protests have spread across the towns of Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Chinari and Mirpur. The administration in Pakistan has issued a warning to clamp down on any reporting by media.
- Protestors allege that the genuine voters were not allowed to cast their votes and also claimed that the elections were rigged. The locals want a neutral face to oversee the election process.
