Protestors In Kolkata Organize Lavish Food Festival To Oppose Ban On Beef

. .
the problem is I dont even like lamb.. or anything which is not soft. I rarely eat lamb unless it super boiled and full of spices and thick gravy(otherwise it smells like goat to me).
so I guess I will stick to chicken.
Ahhh my friend you are missing so much !!!!!!
There is hardly anything walking crawling or slithering that i haven't tasted:) loved it all. (humans not yet:) )

And nothing will happen with respect to banning beef.

from what i have seen, bengali brahmans openly devour mutton apart from fish/chicken.

So they may not think much of beef, secondly it is an exploitation culture, filthy rich zamindars and piss poor peasants,so common sense or intuition flies through the roof.

one is devouring mutton for taste and the other to overcome depravation.

the choice is upto the bengalis, because the mukherjee/chatterjee/ganuly coterie have only looked after themselves and not the society.

Friends, I have some questions. Why do Hindu feed the cow? They cannot sell them to earn money. They don't eat them, too. :o:

Brother it is a religious belief. You see, in Hinduism we revere the Cow as mother (gives milk, used to till the farm lands, etc.) Hence, over centuries, there has been a tradition to respect the Cow.

Also, unlike popular belief, many many Hindus eat Non vegetarian food (chicken, goat, fish, etc.). Its like the Muslims who don't eat pork or non halal meat because of their religious belief.

What's the problem if they want to eat beef? I mean, why have a special event to showcase that?

In India eating beef is considered secular..

What are these people trying to do? I don't support cow slaughter ban even though I don't eat any kind of red meat but this kinda event is disrespecting Hindus..

Well even an average desi cow with 5-6 litres milk a day can help earn a poor family about 5000-6000 rupees/month( not talking about good breed cows). In Indian villages this is a very good business especially for poors.

who cares about the shithole called bengal?

Bengal is on the last legs of pseudo secularism,BJP government comin soon in Bengal/kerala.

As people have pointed out, firstly milk, milk is an important source of revenue, Milk has an important place in cuisine either by itself or through other forms/products it is used to make.

Cow dung is used as a manure/fertilizer for crops. It is also used as fuel, and hence used in funeral pyres, and other kilns as heat sources.Modern day they can be used for generation of bio gas.
It is considered as a disinfectant, used earlier to clean house floors. It is also used in the preparation of Vibhuthi (sacred ash)

Cow urine too is considered as a disinfectant, anti bacterial and anti fungal in nature, and is prescribed as medicines and bacteria killers in Ayurvedic medicine.
Here is a study by a university on the antibacterial and anti fungal effects of it:
